COLLEGE NOTES

ABIGAIL PACK of Roanoke, a graduate student at the University of Iowa, is playing the horn in the University Symphony.

Pack had to audition for the symphony, which is considered the most prestigious ensemble at the university's School of Music.

ADRIENNE GREER, daughter of Kim and Joy Greer of Roanoke, received a master of accounting degree from the Kenan-Flagler Business School at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill.

ABBY DICKSON, daughter of Richard and Dianne Dickson, was among 22 students at Guilford College to be named Corella and Bertram F. Bonner Scholars

Bonner Scholars receive financial support during their four years at Guilford in exchange for participating in community service programs.

ROBERTA M. PRICE and MARGARET W. THIBODEAUX, both of Roanoke, have completed degrees from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

Price and Thibodeaux both received master degrees in library and information studies.

VIRGINIA WESTERN COMMUNITY COLLEGE has announced the names of its 1995 summer semester graduates from the Roanoke-area.

BETH A. POWERS, daughter of Sherry W. Edwards of Roanoke, was named a Highlander Scholar by the Radford University Honors Program. To become a Highlander Scholar a student must meet grade point average and class requirements and submit a faculty recommendation.

ANGELA JEFFERSON, daughter of Roger and Linda Jefferson of Roanoke, is a member of Psi Chi, the national psychology honor society at Lynchburg College.

Jefferson is a 1993 graduate of Cave Spring High School and a junior psychology major at Lynchburg College.
