CANDIDATES REPORT EXPENSES IN PULASKI

Republican challenger Norman Dowdy raised some $1,355 from two October fund-raisers in his bid for Pulaski County sheriff.

Sheriff Ralph Dobbins, the Democratic incumbent seeking re-election, had a $1,000 contribution from the political wing of the Washington, D.C.-based Ironworkers Association.

The information is shown in the candidates' most recent campaign expense reports.

Otherwise, Dobbins received 10 private contributions totaling $470 while Dowdy got nine totaling $799.

In another major Pulaski County race, Commonwealth's Attorney Everett Shockley took in $900 from nine contributors, including $150 from fellow Republican Malfourd "Bo" Trumbo, a state senator whose district covers part of the county. Democrat challenger Byron Shankman got $1,456 from 19 contributors and has made a personal $1,200 loan to his campaign.
