Baugh-Byrd

Tina Obenshain Byrd and Tommie Lynn Baugh were united in marriage Saturday, October 21, 1995, at 3:00 p.m. at Edgewood Christian Church in Roanoke, Va., with Marrion G. Harris officiating. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the home of Douglas and Marilyn Woodward. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harold R. Obenshain of Salem. The groom is the son of Mary Lue Baugh of Roanoke and the late David Houston Baugh of Catawba, Va. Marilyn Woodward served as matron of honor, and Donna Atkinson was maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Lisa St. Clair and Tiffany Byrd of Salem. Flower girl was Jocelyn St. Clair, and Joey Byrd, son of bride, was ring bearer. The best man was Mark Zachmyc of Texas, and the groomsmen were David Atkinson, Wayne Roberts and Joey Byrd. Music was provided by former Lickity Split vocalist Woody Woodward. Guestbook attended by Lori Atkinson. Junior hostess was Eve Pauley. Bride's hair and makeup by Caressa Atkinson. The bride is employed by Franklin County Animal Hospital. She attended William Fleming High School and Ruffner Jr. High. The groom attended Ruffner Jr. High, William Fleming High School and Va. Western Community College. He is employed by Band 3rd Degree as a Sound Tech. He is self employed as a drummer for the bands Seduction and Lickity Split. He was the former drummer for Friends and Lovers. Mike Browder of Salem and guitarist Willie Goodwin of Persona Non Grata held swords as couple exited to the reception. The couple is from Glade Hill, Va., and plan to make their home in Roanoke after returning from a trip to Virginia Beach.

Capell-Godsey

The marriage of Ann-Elizabeth Godsey, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. E. Carl Godsey, Jr., of Richmond, formerly of Roanoke, to William Jack Capell, Jr., of Boston, son of Mr. William Jack Capell, Sr., of Boston and the late Louise M. Capell, took place October 14, 1995, at Sts. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Cathedral. The Rev. C. N. Dombalis officiated assisted by the Rev. Richard Olsen of First English Lutheran Church.

Miss Godsey is the granddaughter of Mrs. Deane DuVall Hicks and the late Jackson M. Hicks and Elizabeth Hicks of Roanoke.

Matron of honor was Amy Berger. Bridesmaids were Lynne Godsey, Jeannine Lenehan, Donna Absi, Lynne Noyes, Jennifer Doll and Rebecca Doll. Honorary bridesmaid was Melissa Godsey. Julianne Lenehan, Chloe Absi and Hannah Godsey were flower girls.

Mr. William Jack Capell was his son's best man. Groomsmen were Daniel Lenehan, Michel Absi, Donald Malloy, Scott Hanson and Thomas Maguire. Honorary groomsmen were Tripp Godsey and Andrew Macbeth. Sean Lenehan was crown bearer and Dylan Absi was ring bearer.

The bride graduated from Elon College, North Carolina, and received her master's degree in rehabilitation counseling from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she has undertaken post-graduate studies.

The groom graduated from Salem State College, Massachusetts, and received his mast er's degree in human nutrition from Framingham State College, Massachusetts. He completed his internship at the Medical College of Virginia.

A reception was held at Willow Oaks Country Club after which the couple left for a wedding trip to Ocho Rios. They will live in Richmond.

Flory-Ragland

Catherine Marie Ragland and Daniel William Flory were united in marriage May 20, 1995, at Greenhill Church of the Brethren in Salem, Va. Reverend Dee C. Flory, father of the groom officiated. The reception was held in the fellowship hall of the church.

The bride was escorted by her nephew, Steven Mabe. Matron of honor was Pamela Mabe, sister of the bride. Bridesmaid was Karon Hunt, friend of the bride. The guest book was attended by Jackie Harmon, friend of the bride.|

The best man was Jonathan Flory, brother of the groom. Groomsmen were Danny Marshall and Preston Fitzgerald, brothers-in-law of the groom. The wedding director was Polly Thompson, cousin of the bride.

The bride is the daughter of Mrs. Evelyn C. Ragland of Roanoke and the late Stanley R. Ragland. She is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and is employed by Atlantic Mutual Ins. Co. The groom is the son of Reverend and Mrs. Dee C. Flory of Salem. He is a graduate of Wilson Memorial High School and is employed by AMP, Inc.

The couple spent their honeymoon at Caesars Resort in the Pocono Mountians and will make Roanoke their home.

Gracely-Milko

Nicole Kristin Milko and Brian Robert Gracely were united in marriage Saturday, November 4, 1995 at Saint Andr ew's Catholic Church. The ceremony was officiated by Father Randy Rule. The reception was held at The Water's Edge Country Club at Smith Mountain Lake.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Carl N. Milko of Daleville, Va., and Mr. and Mrs. Elmer T. Ebersol of Ho-Ho-Kus, New Jersey.

The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert R. Gracely of Beverly Hills, Michigan, and the grandson of Mrs. Margaret Gracely of Marion, Ohio.

Susan Milko served as her sister's maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Kristin Brooks of Roanoke, and Alice Peschl of Winston-Salem, N.C., friends of the bride. Kaitlin Ebersol, the bride's cousin of West Chester, Pennsylvania, was the flowergirl.

The best man was Jonathan Leiman of Troy, Michigan, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were Kevin Gracely of Beverly Hills, Michigan, brother of the groom, and John Milko of Roanoke, brother of the bride.

After their wedding trip to the Cayman Islands, the newlyweds will reside in Atlanta, Ga., where the groom is employed by Bay Networks.

Jennings-Craft

Janette Marie Craft and Timothy Allen Jennings were married October 7, 1995 in St. Mark's United Methodist Church with the Reverend Gene Williams officiating. The reception was held in the church fellowship hall.

The matron of honor was Tracy Watts, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Kim Campbell, friend of the bride; Beverly Craft and Norma Craft, sisters of the bride; and Deanne Craft, sister-in-law of the bride. Flowergirl was Kady Campbell.

The best man was Fred Jennings, father of the groom. The ushers were Tommy Jennings, brother of the groom; Mike Waddell and Wesley Fulton, friends of the groom; and Stacey Craft, brother of the bride. Ringbearer was Mark Anthony Smith, cousin of the bride.

Music selections were sung by Lillian Semones. The guestbook was attended by Tonya Livengood and Melissa Alderman, friends of the bride.

A special thanks to my Aunt Brenda Smith for all her help and time in decorating and for a super job on all of the flowers. I would also like to thank all the women at St. Mark's who helped out in so many ways. Also to Elaine Prillaman ``Thank you'' for a great job on the cake.

The bride wore a white satin gown by Sweetheart Gowns from Formal Occasions in Salem.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Norman L. Craft of Daleville. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and Radford University. She is employed by Southwest Virginia Savings Bank.

The groom is the son of Mr. Fred B. Jennings of Troutville, and Mrs. Carol Frye of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and is employed by Valley Irrigation L.C.

The newlyweds will live in Roanoke, after their wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee.

Lawless-Craft

Tammy Danielle Craft and Rodney Dean Lawless were united in marriage at 6:30 p.m. Saturday, November 4, 1995, at Boones Mill Baptist Church in Boones Mill, Va. The officiating pastor was the Rev. Robert Johnson.

The bride was given in marriage by her father. The maid of honor was Karey Craft, and the matron of honor was Jody Snead, sisters of the bride. The bridesmaids were Mandy Lawless and Becky Lawless, daughters of the groom; and Cindy Poindexter, friend of the bride. Flowergirl was Tracy Lawless, the groom's daughter. The best man was Russell Lawless, brother of the groom. The groomsmen included Timmy Lawless, nephew of the groom; Paul Fisher and Jimmy Robertson, friends of the groom; and Bob Willis, uncle of the groom. The ringbearer was Spencer Snead, nephew of the bride. Candlelighters were Russell and Timmy Lawless. The guestbook was attended by Angie Lawless, sister-in-law to the groom.

The bride wore a white Italian Satin gown. The fitted bodice featured a sweetheart neckline and long tapered sleeves. The formal gown was accented with Alencon lace, pearls and clear crystals. The full skirt is embellished with a wide Alencon lace border along the hemline which flows into a Royal Train. She carried a bouquet of white, black, navy and purple flowers with matching ribbons.

The bride is the daughter of Richard and Brenda Craft of Daleville. She is a graduate of Lord Botetourt High School and a graduate of the College of Health Sciences. The bride is employed at Community Hospital of Roanoke.

The bridegroom is the son of James and Emma Lawless of Boones Mill, Virginia. He is a graduate of Moseley Flint School of Real Estate, and a graduate of Cardinal Criminal Justice Academy - 21st Basic Law Enforcement Academy. The bridegroom is employed as a Law Enforcement Officer.

After a wedding trip to the Caribbean, the couple will reside in Callaway, Virginia.

Mann-Hummell

Jennifer Lynn Hummell and Jay Lawrence Mann were married Saturday, November 4, 1995 at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church in Roanoke, Virginia. The Deacon George L'Heureux of Saint Joseph's parish in Alexandria, Virginia officiated. Following the ceremony, a sit down dinner and reception was held at the Radisson Patrick Henry Hotel.|

The bride is a daughter of Steven and Barbara Hummell of Roanoke, Virginia. She wore a contemporary, pure white gown of shantung with a fitted lace bodice and carried a bouquet of stargazer lilies with white and pink roses. The bride is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is currently working as a pharmaceutical representative for Glaxo Wellcome in Northern Virginia. The groom is the son of Jon and Megan Martin of Dallas, Texas. He is a graduate of Virginia Tech and is employed as a sales representative for Physician Sales and Service in the Washington, D.C. area. The couple will reside in Alexandria, Virginia after a wedding trip to Oahu and Maui.|

The maid of honor was Miss Gretchen Hummell, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Miss Erin Walker, Miss Lorianne Post, Miss Dorothy Winters, Miss Monica Leonard, and Miss Lori Banks. The junior bridesmaid was Miss Elizabeth Harms.

Mr. Mann was attended by best man, Mr. Michael Kennedy and groomsmen, Mr. David Ashe, Mr. David Beaton, Capt. Edward Black, Mr. Edward Chapman, and Mr. Henry Wagner. Anthony Marino served as ring bearer for the bride and groom.|

McLain-Cuddy

Monica Lynn Cuddy and John Thomas McLain, III were united in marriage on November 4, 1995, at Hollins Road Baptist Church, with the Reverend Mark Washington officiating. The reception was held in the fellowship hall, catered by Mrs. Dot Toney. The rehearsal dinner was held at Sunnybrook Inn, hosted by the groom's mother. A bridal luncheon was held at the Hotel Roanoke, hosted by Mrs. Kelly Angle.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ralph C. Williamson of Hardy. She is employed by Valley Printers, Inc. The groom is the son of Mrs. Jaunita P. McLain of Roanoke, and the late John Thomas McLain, Jr. He is employed by Terry Walters Precision Engines.

The bride was escorted by her stepfather and given in marriage by her parents. The matron of honor was April Walton Powell, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids were Kelly Willis Angle and Carey Saul Wilmer, friends of the bride. The flower girls were Ashlee M. Dillard and Kaitlin B. Oakes, friends of the bride.

The best man was Robert Ricky Crouse, friend of the groom. The groomsmen were David Scott Crouse, Matthew Wayne Dillon, and Bradley Jay Powell, friends of the groom. After a wedding cruise to Cozumel, Mexico, the newlyweds will reside in Salem. Monica and John would like to thank their parents for their unconditional love and support. Thanks to family and friends who make their wedding a memory they will treasure forever.

Pace-Garlow

Amy Elizabeth Garlow and Mark Reynolds Pace were married on November 4, 1995 in Second Presbyterian Church in Roanoke, with the Reverend A. Taylor Todd and Father Robert L. Cummins officiating. The ceremony was followed by a reception at Hidden Valley Country Club.

The matron of honor was Sarah Garlow Burton, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Christy Pace, sister of the groom, Mary Brown, cousin of the bride, Amanda Ford, Corissa Gold, Stephanie Hilborn, Lisa Jarrett, and Renee Lanier, friends of the bride. The flowergirl was Allison Burton, niece of the bride.

The best man was Mr. Eppa Claude Pace, III, father of the groom. The groomsmen were Christopher Burton, brother-in-law of the bride, David Garlow, John Garlow, brothers of the bride, Preston McGhee, stepbrother of the groom, Thomas Duckwall, Steve Morris, Geo Thornhill, and Steven Waskey, friends of the groom.

The groom is the son of Mr. Eppa Claude Pace, III of Roanoke, and Mrs. Nancy Moore Gabbert of Salem. He is a graduate of Patrick Henry High School and Radford University. He is employed by E. C. After the wedding trip, the newlyweds will reside in Roanoke.

Sandra Lee Salmon from Blacksburg and Scott Perdue from Giles were married Friday, October 13, 1995 at VT Duck Pond, Blacksburg at 6 p.m.

Perry-Roback

Stephanie Roback and Matthew Perry were married October 7 in St. Patrick's Church, Richmond, with Father Donald Fox officiating. The reception was held at Valentine Museum Garden. The maid of honor was Catherine Roback, sister of bride, and matron of honor was Valerie Gregg, sister of bride. Greg Perry, brother of groom, was best man. The bride is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Thomas Roback of Blacksburg. She is a graduate of James Madison University and Old Dominion University. The groom is the son of Frank and Lorraine Perry of Morristown, N. J. He graduated from James Madison University. The newlyweds will live in Richmond.

Pugh-Pedigo

Cherie Marcelle Pedigo and Steven Morrison Pugh were married November 4, 1995, at Vinton Baptist Church with Pastor David Elks officiating. The reception was held at Lake Drive Swim Club in Vinton.

The bride is the daughter of Michelle L. Ridgeway of Vinton, and Gary and Linda Pedigo of Roanoke. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education from Radford University. The bride is currently employed by Henrico County Public Schools.

The groom is the son of Donald and Thelma Pugh of Vinton. He is also a graduate of William Byrd High School and holds Bachelor of Science and Master of Science degrees in Mathematics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University. The groom is employed as a programmer at Circuit City Stores, Inc. in Richmond, Virginia.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Serving as maid of honor was Heather Ridgeway, cousin of the bride. Bridesmaids were Lisa Overstreet, Angie Roberts, Barbara Pennington, and Heather Adkins, friends of the bride and groom.

The best man was Don Pugh, father of the groom. Groomsmen were Michael Pugh, brother of the groom; Doug Hylton, Rusty McCormack, and Vic Pennington, friends of the bride and groom.

Ryan Wood, brother of the bride, served as candlelighter. The flowergirl and the ringbearer were Mariah and Isaac Poelman, niece and nephew of the groom.

Attending the guestbook was Claire Ridgeway, aunt of the bride. Mrs. Tammy Booker, pianist, provided wedding music. The soloist was Mrs. Sharon Poelman, sister of the groom. The wedding was directed by Mrs. Carol Carp.

Steve and Cherie will reside in Glen Allen, Virginia.

Robinson-Smith

Miss Mary Elizabeth Camp Smith of Baltimore, Maryland, became the bride of Hugh Laughlin Robinson II, also of Baltimore, Maryland, on Saturday, the fourth of November, at high noon at St. Stephen's Episcopal Church, Richmond, Virginia, with the Very Reverend Van Ho ward Gardner and the Reverend Doctor Thom Blair, Jr., officiating.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Purnell Smith III of Bassett, Virginia. Mr. Robinson is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Weld Robinson of Lutherville, Maryland.

Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore an heirloom gown of magnolia silk satin which featured a molded bodice of point de Venise lace reembroidered with seed pearls. The bride wore her mother's veil of Brussels lace posed over silk illusion and carried a bouquet of roses and gardenias.|

Miss Sarah Pritchartt Smith of Alexandria, Virginia, sister of the bride, was maid of honor. She wore a floor length gown of pewter crepe with matching satin jacket and carried a bouquet of roses, gerbera daisies and heather. Bridesmaids were Mrs. Wayne Frederick Howe of Tyngsboro, Massachusetts, sister of the groom; Mrs. Whitmell Hill Griffin of Richmond, Virginia, cousin of the bride; Miss Catherine Moore Broadman of Greenville, South Carolina; Mrs. Edward Ashton Poole of New York, New York; Miss Alexa Anne Salzman of San Francisco, California; and Miss Gabrielle Beauregard Toledano of Miami, Florida. Their dresses and bouquets matched those of the maid of honor.

Miss Sarah Devon Morten and Miss Elizabeth Strub Morten of Martinsville, Virginia, were flowergirls. Their dresses of ivory silk organdy features portrait collars and satin insets and they carried nosegays of rosebuds and heather.

Dr. William Henry Matthai, Jr., was best man. Groomsmen were Mr. Charles Purnell Smith IV of Baltimore, Maryland, brother of the bride; Mr. James Bradley Barnhart and Mr. Marc Willson Ottinger of Towson, Maryland; Mr. Arthur Purdum Caltrider, Jr., of Baltimore, Maryland; Mr. Edsel Ardean Docken, Jr., of Ruxton, Maryland, and Mr. Timothy McCann of Doylestown, Pennsylvania.

A wedding breakfast was given by the bride's parents at the Commonwealth Club.

The bride was educated at St. Catherine's School, Richmond, Virginia, and Washington and Lee University, Lexington, Virginia. She is employed as a lease consultant at AT&T Capital Corporation in Towson, Maryland.|

Mr. Robinson received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Washington and Lee University and is a vice-president in the International Banking Group of the First National Bank of Maryland in Baltimore.|

Following a wedding trip to The Cloister, Sea Island, Georgia, the couple will reside in Baltimore, Maryland.

Thomasson-Martin

Elizabeth Irwin Martin and William Ambler Thomasson were married November 4, 1995, at Christ Lutheran Church in Roanoke. The Rev. Linda S. Mitchell and the Rev. Mark W. Radecke officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Moyer Martin of Roanoke. The groom is the son of Mrs. Charles Preston Lunsford and the late Frank Lewis Thomasson, Jr. of Bedford.

Honor attendant was Linda Mitchell Martin of Lynchburg, sister-in-law of the bride. Attendants were Betty Angle Bennett of Roanoke, Catherine Cramer Hagan of Charlottesville, and Joan Susan Haley of Roanoke. Kate Jennings Martin, niece of the bride, served as flower girl.

Frank Lewis Thomasson, III of Charlottesville and Bruce Nelson Thomasson of Salem served as their brother's best men. Groomsmen were Thomas Richard Bagby of Roanoke, brother-in-law of the groom, John Franklin Martin of Lynchburg, brother of the bride, and David Thomas Nichols of Durham, North Carolina. Andrew Sterling Thomasson, nephew of the groom, served as ring bearer.

The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Jefferson Center.

The bride graduated from James Madison University and received her Master's degree from Hollins College. She is employed by Cloud 9 Publishing and Carolina Mirror Company. The groom is a graduate of the University of Virginia and is employed by The Packett Group.

Following a wedding trip to Islamorada, the couple will reside in Roanoke.

Wilks-Eberhart

Marylaurel Eberhart and John Whitfield Wilks were married October 14, 1995 in Dilworth United Methodist Church, Charlotte, N.C., with Dr. Douglas Fairbanks, Jr. officiating. The reception was held at Myers Park Country Club, Charlotte, N.C.

The maid of honor was Miss Emily Ann Eberhart, sister of the bride. The bridesmaids were Mrs. Harriet Lee Smith, sister of the bride; Mrs. Susan Wismer Eberhart, sister-in-law of the bride; Miss Donica Nicole Perry, Mrs. Susan Campbell, and Mrs. Lori Anderson, friends. Flowergirl was Grace Wismer Eberhart, the bride's niece.

The best man was Dr. John William Wilks, father of the groom. The ushers were Theodore Krouse Whitfield, cousin of the groom; Dr. Mark Donald Piehl, Hugh Brown Campbell, Junius Scott Prince, friends; and Christopher Rex Eberhart, brother of the bride. Ringbearer was Ian Wismer Eberhart, nephew of the bride. The guestbook was attended by Miss Kimberly D. Speiden.

The bride's gown was alencon lace bodice with silk skirt and train. She carried an arm bouquet of white French tulips.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert N. Eberhart of Jackson, Mich. She is a graduate of Cedar Crest College (B.A.) and Wake Forest University School of Law (J.D). She is employed by Charlotte Motor Speedway.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. John William Wilks of Roanoke, Va. He is a graduate of North Cross School, Davidson College, Wake Forest University School of Law, Babcock Graduate School of Management. He is employed by Johnston, Taylor, Allison & Hord, P.A.

The newlyweds will live in Charlotte, N.C., after their wedding trip to Aruba.

Wirth-Metz

Sharon Lee Metz and Raymond W. Wirth were married October 14, 1995. by Dr. Jack Graham. The bride was given away by her sons, Brentley & Travis Jones of Lexington, Ky. and they also served as best men for the groom. The groom is a graduate of Notre Dame University and he received his masters degree from Michigan State Univ. He is chairman of Wirth Leasing, Inc., Dallas, Tx. The newlyweds will live in Dallas, Tx.|
