No reason for the switch was given, Pulaski Town Manager Tom Combiths said Monday. Also, there was no indication of whether the request would be renewed at some future date.
Because there had been little follow-up contact, town officials were unsure how firm development plans for the center might be.
The Richmond developer had filed a request to conditionally rezone 45 acres at the northeast corner of Peppers Ferry Road and Memorial Drive, which would be across Memorial Drive from the existing Memorial Square Shopping Center.
Town Council had forwarded the request to the town Planning Commission for consideration.
There had been no opposition to the request at the council meeting. That was not the case several years ago when the town rezoned the property for what is now Memorial Square Shopping Center. The required rezoning in that request took nearly two years to be completed.
