ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Home sales in the Roanoke Valley rose 9.8 percent last month from year-earlier counts. Agents placed 325 houses under contract in October, compared with 296 in October 1994. Sales rose a marginal 1 percent from 319 in September.

On average, buyers paid 3.5 percent less than the listed price and properties spent 121.7 days on the market. There were 1,938 homes for sale in the Roanoke Valley at the end of last month.
