MAN ROBBED ON OFTEN-TRAVELED BLACKSBURG ROAD

A man was thrown to the ground, "what is possibly a handgun was put to his head" and his wallet was stolen by three men early Saturday morning on heavily traveled Tom's Creek Road in Blacksburg, according to Blacksburg police.

The victim and two male companions were approached about 4 by the men, who asked for pocket change.

"At first, the victim stated he had some, but as he tried to back out, he was attacked," according to a news release from the Police Department. "The victim ran across the street but was caught."

The men were last seen running north on Tom's Creek Road, according to police.

Last month, another resident was robbed at gunpoint in Blacksburg, police said.
