PLAYOFF RUN ENDS FOR RUSH

Former West Virginia standout quarterback Major Harris completed 9 of 17 passes for 141 yards and one touchdown and Wes Jackson intercepted a pass in the end zone late to preserve the West Virginia Lightning's 15-13 win over the Roanoke Rush on Saturday in the second round of the National Minor League Football playoffs.

Harris completed a 21-yard touchdown pass to Mark DuPree in the fourth quarter to give West Virginia a 15-6 lead.

Roanoke (9-5) answered when T.J. Jackson completed an 86-yard touchdown strike to Eddie Sloss, and the extra point cut the lead to 15-13.

The Rush then recovered a fumble and had the ball at the West Virginia 10 before Wes Jackson intercepted T.J. Jackson's pass in the end zone with less than three minutes to go to preserve the win.

West Virginia (11-1) took a 9-0 halftime lead on John Jones' 20-yard run and a Mike Johnson 31-yard field goal.

Roanoke scored its first touchdown to cut the lead to 9-6 when T.J. Jackson completed a 41-yard touchdown pass to Dee Thompson.
