CARRINGTON, Rev. James Jr., 58, of Roanoke, moved across the river to be with the Lord on Monday, November 13, 1995. He was the current Pastor of Poplar Springs Baptist Church in Bedford and Bold Branch Baptist Church, Stoney Mt. COOPER, Thomas Lewis, 66, of Salem, quietly departed this life on Sunday evening, November 12, 1995 at the V. A. Medical Center in Salem after a lengthy illness. He was the oldest of six children born to the late Minnie Muse Cooper and Percy Roosevelt Cooper. He leaves to cherish his memory, one sister, Virginia Cooper Morrison, Roanoke; three brothers, Eddie Cooper, Salem, Irvin (Shirley) Cooper, Phillip (Regina) Cooper, both of Roanoke; several aunts, Fannie and Charles Walker, Hattie P. Cooper, Pattie Cooper, Roanoke, Pearl Barbour, Halifax; uncles, James and Minnie Cooper, Washington, D.C., Connie and Christine Muse, Chicago, Ill., Vernon Cooper, Washington, D.C., Rev. Pink and Angie Wimbish; nieces, nephews, a host of cousins, other relatives and a devoted friend, Della Mack, Washington, D.C.; and many friends. Funeral services will be Friday at 2 p.m. in the Hamlar-Curtis Funeral Chapel. Dr. James A. Braxton will officiate, with interment in Williams Memorial Park. CRUTCHFIELD, Paul David, 50, o f 229 Grandview Court, Kingsport, Tenn., died Monday, November 13,1995 in Holston Valley Hospital and Medical Center, Kingsport, Tenn. He is survived by his wife, Sharon S. Crutchfield; one son, Jon Crutchfield, Rocky Mount, Va.; one daughter, Mrs. Jon (Jill) Henry, Bristol, Va.; his mother, Myrtle C. Crutchfield, Pulaski, Va.; two brothers, Roger Crutchfield, Pulaski, Va., James A. Crutchfield, Chilhowie, Va.; one sister, Mrs. Bob (June) Aker, Pulaski, Va.; three grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Paul Douglas Crutchfield. Funeral services were conducted at 8 p.m. Tuesday in the Higher Ground Baptist Church, Kingsport, Tenn., with Pastor Phil Hoskins, the Rev. David Frazier and Pastor Mike Stout officiating. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Eat Lawn Memorial Park, Kingsport. DALTON, Harold Edward, (``Edd""), 31, of Barren Springs, died Monday, November 13, 1995, at the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem. He was a U. S. Army veteran and a member of the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his wife, Annie Jane Dalton; one daughter, Roxzanna Daye Dalton; one son, Cole Quincy Dalton, all of the home; his parents, Harold (``Lum"") and Linda Dalton of Barren Springs; one sister and brother-in-law, Teresa and Mike Shockley of Mebane, N.C.; one brother, Shawn Avery Dalton of Barren Springs; his maternal grandmother, Stella Lawson Jennings; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Royce and Elsie Mae Primm; three brothers-in-law, Royce D. Primm, Ricky D. Primm and Rocky D. Primm, all of Barren Springs; two nieces, and two nephews. DeMole, Julia Hall, 27, of Salem, passed away Monday, November 13, 1995. Julia was the co-owner of J & D Landscaping. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. surviving is her beloved husband, Dana DeMole; and her precious sons, Derek and Brett DeMole; her parents, Ken and Dixie Hall; a sister, Jessica; and brother, Justin Hall; her grandparents, Vernie and Mary Eanes; grandmother, Dana Hall Maxey and husband, Earl; her father and mother-in-law, Don and Nellie DeMole; and a sister-in-law, Linda Abbott. He was a veteran of World War II, a member of the American Legion Post #3, and was a retired crane operator with the Norfolk & Western East End Shops after 30 years service. Mr.. LEECH, Essie Long, 74, of Roanoke, died Tuesday, November 14, 1995. She was the widow of Owen C. Leech. She was a graduate from Roanoke College, Columbia University, and taught school for forty-three years. She is survived by one sister, Hazel Long Kelley; one brother, Bill M. Long; a very special friend, Patricia Hales; and several nieces and nephews. MORGAN, Clarence Carlyle, Sr., 71, of Roanoke, passed away on Monday, November 13, 1995, at his home following a lengthy illness. He was retired from Norfolk-Southern Railroad. MORRIS, Danny Clay, 49, of Wirtz, passed away Monday, November 13, 1995, at his home. Mr. Morris was an employee of Roanoke Electric Steel and a member of IBEW. Born June 3, 1946, he was preceded in death by his father, Brady Lee Morris, two brothers Jimmy and Archie Morris and a sister Ellen Morris. . OGDEN, Smith Osmar, 77, of Buena Vista, Va. went to meet his Savior on Sunday, November 12,1995. Born in Amherst on December 6, 1917, he was the son of the late Hugh Oliver and Myra Ogden. Mr. Ogden retired from Reeves Brothers Manufacturing in 1982. He was well known in the area as a farmer, a vocation he loved and pursued throughout his entire life. Mr. Ogden had been a member of Marvin United Methodist Church since 1948. For the past 45 years, he has served that congregation as Lay Leader as well as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher. Mr. Ogden leaves behind his wife of 54 years, Margaret Mays Ogden. He is also survived by three daughters, Brenda Clements, Buena Vista, Judy Hevener and Donna Bright of Fairfield; two brothers, Rader Ogden of Amherst County and Hugh Ogden, Jr. of Buena Vista; three sisters, Dorothy Coffey and Hilda Coffey of Buena Vista and Velma Shrawder of Hummels Wharf, Penn; eight grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. VESTAL, Warner Boldyn, of Collinsville, died Tuesday, November 14, 1995 at Blue Ridge Rehab & Nursing Center after a long illness. He was born May 2, 1916 in Yadkin County, N.C., the third son of Santford Miller Vestal Jr. and Mary Elizabeth Lovelace Vestal. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elizabeth Cox Vestal, his parents and his three brothers, Waymoth D. Vestal Sr., Samuel Raynor Vestal and Robert H. Vestal. In 1935 he moved to Henry County to join his father and brothers who were working for Bassett Furniture Industries. He remained with BFI as an electrician, machinist and maintenance foreman for over 45 years. His hobby was golf, but he was also an avid baseball and football fan. He is survived by his daughter, Anne Vestal-Miller, Rocky Mount; his granddaughter, Linda Anne Miller, Vienna; his grandson, Timothy Mark Miller; his great-grandson, Wesley Warner Miller, both of Waldorf, Md. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Flora Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. William K. Dawson officiating. Interment will follow in Roselawn Burial Park, Martinsville. WARREN, Cora Belle, 95, of Roanoke passed away Sunday, November 12, 1995 in a local hospital. Survivors include her daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Willie Mae and Rev. Robert K. WOOLDRIDGE, Homer Witt, Sr., 93, of 613 Lee Street, Bedford, died Monday, November 13, 1995, at his residence. He was born in Appomattox County on February 1, 1902, a son of the late George Walker Wooldridge and Nettie Blanche Witt Wooldridge. Homer was preceded in death by a twin brother, Horace Wooldridge. He retired after 42 years of service with Piedmont Label Company as a press operator. He was a member and former deacon at Bedford Christian Church. He is survived by one son, Homer W. Wooldridge Jr. and daughter-in-law Rushie B. Wooldridge, Bedford; one sister, Mary Wooldridge Hutson, Petersburg, W.Va.; three granddaughters, Teresa W. (Mike) Burton, Bedford, Tami L. Wooldridge, Evington, Melinda K. (Frank) Phillips, Bedford; two great-grandsons, Justin M. Burton and Travis J.
