A BONSACK-AREA SERVICE will be at Bonsack Baptist Church, 4845 Cloverdale Road, on Thursday morning at 9. The Rev. John Ashley of Bonsack United Methodist Church will preach. A breakfast at 7 at Bonsack Methodist church will precede the service.
BUCHANAN BAPTIST CHURCH will be the site of the town's community worship Wednesday at 7 p.m. The Rev. Geoffrey Hubbard of Buchanan Presbyterian Church will speak .
A TROUTVILLE COMMUNITY SERVICE is planned on Wednesday night at 7 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church, 6262 Country Road.
CLOVERDALE CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN on Read Mountain Road will be the site of ecumenical worship for South Botetourt on Wednesday night at 7:30. The Rev. Paul White of Trinity Church of the Brethren will preach.
CAVE SPRING-AREA CHURCHES will sponsor Wednesday night Thanksgiving worship at 7:30 at Oak Grove Church of the Brethren, 2138 McVitty Road S.W. The Rev. David Delaney, associate pastor of St. John Lutheran Church, will speak.
A food offering will be taken for Roanoke Area Ministries, and money donations will be applied to the institutional chaplaincy ministry.
TWO RALEIGH COURT SERVICES are scheduled at Christ Lutheran Church, 2011 Brandon Ave. S.W. On Wednesday night at 7:30, the Rev. William Ramey of Raleigh Court United Methodist will preach and a choir of all ages will sing.
The Thursday morning worship, starting at 9:30, will include a message by the Rev. F. Tupper Garden of Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church. The Christ Lutheran choir will sing.
A DOWNTOWN ROANOKE INTERFAITH service will be on Wednesday night at 7 at Central Church of the Brethren, 416 Church Ave. S.W. The Rev. Robert Watts of Greene Memorial United Methodist will preach.
THE REV. BERNARD VIA of West End United Methodist will speak during a service on Wednesday night at 7 at Trinity United Methodist Church, 305 Mountain Ave. S.W. Highland Park United Methodist also supports this service.
FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH, 2105 S. Jefferson St., will hold a Wednesday night service at 7:30. The Rev. Donald Roberts of South Roanoke United Methodist Church will preach. A combined choir will provide the music.
THE CLEARBROOK-AREA WORSHIP will be at Red Hill Baptist Church on U.S. 220 south of Roanoke Wednesday night at 7 with the Rev. Gary Kingery, pastor, preaching.
GARDEN CITY AREA CHURCHES will unite for a service Wednesday night at 7:30 at Rockingham Court United Methodist Church on Bryan Road Southeast. The Rev. David Bailey of Garden City Church of the Nazarene will be the speaker. Musicians will come from each church.
The offering will go to community emergency medical services.
A CHRISTIAN SCIENCE SERVICE will be held Thanksgiving Day at 11 a.m. at First Church, 155 Overland Road S.W. The service follows the traditional format developed by the denomination's founder, Mary Baker Eddy.
SOUTHEAST ROANOKE CHURCHES will unite for worship Sunday at 4 p.m. at Ninth Street Church of the Brethren, 1103 Ninth St. S.E. The Rev. Elliott Hipps of Belmont Presbyterian Church will preach.
The offering will benefit the Presbyterian Community Center, which serves the neighborhood needy. A social period will be held after the service.
A SALEM COMMUNITY SERVICE will begin at 7 p.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church, 314 Turner Road. David Wolfe, the former Lewis-Gale Hospital chaplain who is going to Indiana, will speak.
THANKSGIVING DINNER, free to any who would otherwise be alone on the holiday, will be offered Thursday at noon in the fellowship hall of Salem Presbyterian Church, Main and Market streets in downtown Salem. For transportation to the meal, call 389-3881 between 9 a.m. and noon by Wednesday.
