FATHER ARRESTED AFTER TRAILER PARK STANDOFF

Police arrested a man who shut himself and his two children inside his mobile home and allegedly tried to burn it down Wednesday, Chesterfield County police said. No one was physically injured.

Timothy L. Snead was charged with felonious assault and threatening to burn a dwelling.

The standoff with police began around 2 a.m. when Snead's girlfriend called 911 to report a domestic incident, Officer Matthew McCartney said.

Snead threw a Molotov cocktail at police and threatened to burn down the trailer while he and the children, ages 6 months and 4 years, were inside, police said.

Snead let the children leave about 8 a.m., McCartney said, but he remained inside.

About 1:10 p.m., Snead allegedly started a fire inside the mobile home, and police entered the trailer and arrested him.
