NO PLACE TO GO FOR THANKSGIVING DINNER? TRY ST. MICHAEL LUTHERAN

St. Michael Lutheran Church on Merrimac Road in Blacksburg will sponsor its second annual Thanksgiving Dinner on Thanksgiving Day at 1 p.m. The event is for members of the community who are unable to provide a dinner for their families or who are alone during the holiday. SERVICES

Christiansburg's Holy Spirit Catholic Church will celebrate Mass today at 5 p.m. at Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Cambria Street. Following Mass will be a Thanksgiving dinner. Today's readings will be Malachi 3:19-20; Psalm 98: 5-9; 2 Thessalonians 3: 7-12; Luke 21: 5-19, 28. 382-8028.

Radford's annual Community Thanksgiving Service, sponsored by the Ministerial Association, is Sunday at 7:30 p.m. at Radford Christian Church on Second Street. Jim Grealish, pastor of St. Jude and Holy Spirit Catholic Churches, will be guest speaker. An offering of non-perishable food will go the Radford Food Pantry.

The Unitarian Universalist Fellowship of the New River Valley, on Gladewood Road in Blacksburg, will host Rudi Gelsey, who will speak on "Gratitude As a Way of Life" at 10:30 a.m. Sunday. At 8:45 a.m., Andrew Cohill, director of the Blacksburg Electronic Village, will lead a roundtable discussion on the electronic village. 552-2717.

Blacksburg's Metaphysical Chapel on Church and Lee Streets will host John Dumais, who will talk about "A Musical Litany of the Soul" at 7 p.m. Sunday. 953-4848.

Victory Temple Pentecostal Holiness Church of God on Cambria Street in Christiansburg will have a revival beginning Sunday at 11 a.m. and continuing Monday through Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. Pastor H.W. Gilmore, 382-4370.

First Baptist Church on West Street in Radford will celebrate its 124th anniversary Sunday during the 11 a.m. service. The guest minister will be the Rev. Robert Spellman Jr. of Waynesboro. Music will be provided by the Young Adult Choir and the Young & Willing Choir.

Blacksburg's St. Francis Anglican Church will have a Thanksgiving Day Holy Communion Service at 10 a.m. An offering of non-perishable foods for the Blacksburg Food Pantry will be taken. 552-1771.

Our Saviour Lutheran Church on Cambria Street in Christiansburg conducts a new informal evening worship Wednesdays at 7 p.m., beginning Nov. 29. The 45-minute service is for people who work on weekends, community newcomers, and people looking for a midweek worship opportunity. 382-2223.

Country Gospel artist Chase Wright will appear at a community Thanksgiving dinner today at 5:30 p.m. at Rockford United Methodist Church on Viscoe Road in Fairlawn. The event is free. 639-5185.

The women of Slusser's Chapel Church in Blacksburg will hold their annual Christmas bazaar today from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church on Mount Tabor Road. Cakes, pies, jellies, jams, apple butter, homemade hard candy, crafts, food, and other items will be for sale. 552-4319.

The Women's Ministries of Christiansburg Pentecostal Holiness Church on Phlegar Street will have its fall bazaar Nov. 25, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. On sale will be handmade craft items, hot dogs, barbecue sandwiches and baked goods.

St. Paul United Methodist Church in Christiansburg is sponsoring a video series on Managing Your Money on Wednesdays at 6:30 p.m. In November, the church will conduct a six-week series on "Building Up Self Esteem in Your Mate."

Youths at Auburn United Methodist Church will perform house cleaning, mowing or weeding. Donations will be used to go to a youth conference. 382-4318.

Christian Community Outreach in Radford has a food outreach on the third Thursday of November and December at 7 p.m. at the Oil, Chemical and Atomic Workers Union Hall in Fairlawn. Food boxes will be available first come, first served to families and people who meet USDA income criteria. 639-5686.
