LEWIS-GALE NAMES VICE PRESIDENT

PAULA N. MITCHELL has been promoted to vice president of Lewis-Gale Medical Center in Salem. In her new position, she will be responsible for the facility's administration of behavioral health, rehabilitative services and home health divisions.

Mitchell joined Lewis-Gale in 1980 as assistant director of physical therapy. She was promoted to director of rehabilitative services in 1985 and was named assistant vice president for the rehabilitation/laboratory division in 1987.

She is president-elect of the Virginia Physical Therapist Association and chairs its ethics committee and is on the College of Health Sciences physical therapy assistant advisory board.

COLLEGES

KIMBERLY PERDUE BLAIR has been appointed director of alumni and parents relations at Roanoke College in Salem. Blair began working at the college in resource development as a development representative in 1993 and was promoted to director of alumni giving in 1994.

DEBRA W. MAXEY has been named communications director at National Business College in Salem.

GOVERNMENT

Roanoke City Attorney WILBURN C. DIBLING JR. has been awarded the 1995 Edward J. Finnegan Award for Distinguished Service as a municipal attorney by the Local Government Attorneys of Virginia. The award is the highest honor conferred by his peers in Virginia. Dibling has been Roanoke city attorney since 1977.

INSURANCE

DALE E. BLAKE has been named Roanoke market manager for Nationwide Insurance. He has been Roanoke regional sales manager since 1991.

He joined Nationwide in 1969 as an agent in Milton, W.Va., and was named agency manager in Fairmont in 1977. In 1980, he was promoted to sales administration manager at the company's former regional operation in Canton, Ohio. He became regional sales manager in Nashville, Tenn., in 1982 and moved to the Columbus, Ohio, home office in 1986 as director of personal lines sales.

TRANSPORTATION

RONNIE W. BAIRD has joined the sales staff of Old Dominion Freight Line Inc.'s Roanoke service center. Baird has eight years experience in the transportation field. He joined Old Dominion in 1993 as a pickup and delivery driver and was later promoted to district sales representative.
