BEDFORD COUNTY CRASH KILLS GIRL, 17

A 17-year-old Lynchburg girl was killed in Bedford County on Friday evening when the vehicle in which she was riding was struck head-on by a pickup truck whose driver lost control after striking a deer, Virginia State Police said.

The accident occurred at 5:20 p.m. on U.S. 501, two-tenths of a mile north of Virginia 761. The victim, Sarah Elizabeth Reiley, died at 7:45 p.m. at Lynchburg General Hospital, state police said.
