AUTHORITIES SAY SUSPECT IN DRUG CASE MADE THREATS

A man charged with three counts of distributing marijuana had his bail revoked Wednesday following a court hearing on alleged threats he made against witnesses and the Montgomery County Drug Task Force office.

"It appears he was making threats concerning witnesses and police officers," said Skip Schwab, assistant commonwealth's attorney.

Gary A. Ford of Christiansburg will be held until his trial, Schwab said. A tape of Ford allegedly making a threat to blow up the witnesses and the task force office, taped by another party, was played in Montgomery County Circuit Court on Wednesday.

Ford was charged with the drug offenses following an Oct. 30 drug sweep by the task force. Schwab said there have been two cases of people "trying to intimidate" witnesses in connection to the case.
