MONTGOMERY SUPERVISORS TO HOLD SPECIAL SESSION

The Montgomery County Board of Supervisors will hold a special meeting Monday to talk over updating the county's comprehensive plan and other issues.

The board will meet at 7 p.m. in the law library on the fourth floor of the Montgomery County Courthouse. Other subjects to be covered include:

definitions of pets and livestock, an issue that came up over the summer in a neighborhood zoning dispute involving horses being kept in a rural subdivision;

ways of regulating residential growth in rural areas;

a proposed historic-district zoning overlay for Shawsville;

issues surrounding the search for a new school site in the Riner area.

The meeting is a work session, meaning the board is not scheduled to take formal action on any matter that night.
