ALTIZER, Percy Quentin, 75, of Roanoke, died early Sunday, November 26, 1995 in the Veterans Administration Medical Center in Salem. He is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, A. Lowell and Faye Altizer of Collinsville; and a sister-in-law, Mrs. Vernal (Gloria) Altizer, Roanoke; nieces and nephews. The funeral will be 2 p.m. Tuesday from the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home Chapel in Christiansburg conducted by Mr. Clarence Lavender. Interment will follow in Sunset Cemetery, Christiansburg. BARKER, George C., Sr., 85, of Salem, died Saturday, November 25, 1995, at his h ome as he wished. He was a mining engineer and was retired from the Berwind Corporation in Charleston, W.Va. He was a member of St. Paul's Episcopal Church and the Salem Kiwanis Club, and attended Virginia Episcopal School. He is survived by two sisters, Mary Povlich of Moneta and Jean Crockett of Welch, W.Va.; a son and daughter-in-law, George and Betsy Barker of Salem; grandsons, George C. Barker III of Upper Darby, Pa., and Lewis E. Barker and his wife Christine, and David J. Barker of Salem, and one great-grandson, Jonathan Lewis Barker of Salem. Graveside services will be conducted at noon Tuesday, November 28, 1995, at Sherwood Memorial Park, with Dr. Robert T. Copenhaver officiating. In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made to the Rector's Discretionary Fund, St. Paul's Episcopal Church. BARTIROMO, Hilda Swinney, 65, of 139 Clinton Ave., New Haven, Conn., died Saturday, November 25, 1995 at the Connecticut Hospice, Inc., Branford, Conn., after a brief illness. She was the widow of Pasquale (Pat) Bartiromo. Mrs. Bartiromo was born in Christiansburg, Va., on July 7, 1928 and was the daughter of the late Thomas Leslie and Alice Dudley Swinney. A resident of New Haven for most of her life, she was a former member of the Atwater Senior Center and a 50 year member of the First Congregational Church in Fair Haven. She leaves two sons, Leslie Bartiromo of New Haven, Robert Bartiromo of North Haven; and two grandchildren. LILLY, Edward James, Jr., (``Eddie""), 49, of Tallahassee, Fla., died Saturday, November 25, 1995. A native of Baltimore, Md., he lived in Roanoke, Va., prior to moving to Tallahassee in 1972. He served in the U. S. Air Force during the Viet Nam Conflict from 1967 to 1968. Survivors include his wife, Karen R. Lilly of Tallahassee; a son, Edward James Lilly III of Tallahassee; four daughters, Christina Dale Lilly, Elizabeth Mae Lilly and Debra Ann Lilly of Tallahassee and Belinda Hutson of Rocky Mount, Va.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Edward J. OKES, Ruby Pearl Basham, 81, of Interlachen, Fla., a longtime resident of Radford, Va., passed away Saturday, November 25, 1995, at her home in Interlachen. PHELPS, Clarence Allen, 55, of Bedford, died Sunday, November 26, 1995 in Roanoke Memorial Hospital. He was born in Lynchburg October 24, 1940 a son of Mabel Hoback Phelps of Bedford and the late Harry Burge Phelps. He was a former employee of General Electric and had been employed by Rubatex Corp. for over 17 years. He was a member of Main Street United Methodist Church, the Outlaw Gang Riding Club and was an Army Veteran, having served in Germany. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife, Jo Ann Kiger Phelps; two daughters, Tammie Smith and Joanie Ponder; a brother, Johnny R. Phelps all of Bedford; also five grandchildren.
