ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

The Blue Ridge Parkway counted 126,821 cars entering its Roanoke district in October, down slightly from last year's 126,901 cars.

October is usually the busiest time of year because of the autumn color, but this October was eclipsed by 128,289 vehicles in July.

Most of the cars, 57,044, entered from Virginia 24 east of Vinton; the second-highest number, 45,109, got on via U.S. 220 south of Roanoke. Fewer - 11,888 - entering from U.S. 221 at Adney Gap, and 12,780 used Mill Mountain Road as an access point.
