FRANKLIN LEADS CARLISLE TO OPENING WIN

Lamont Franklin scored 15 of his game-high 24 points in a 31-point second quarter as Carlisle rolled to 78-64 victory over Lynchburg Christian on Tuesday night in a Virginia Independent Conference boys' basketball game.

Joseph McClinton added 18 points and Bryant Redd had 13 for the Chiefs (1-0).

Lynchburg Christian (0-1) was led by Chad Jones' 16 points and John Jenny's 13.
