BARNARD, Julia Marshall, 95, of Laurel Fork, passed away Friday, December 1, 1995 at her home. She was born December 14, 1899 in Carroll County. She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Helen B. a nd Dewey C. Frazier, Laurel Fork; a son and daughter-in-law, Blaine B. and Shirley E. Barnard, Laurel Fork; sister-in-law, Lois B. Harris, Meadows of Dan; several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Sunday, December 3, 1995 at Tory Creek Missionary Baptist Church, with the Rev. Kevin Combs and the Rev. COVERSTONE, Gladys Clement, 82, of Roanoke passed away Friday, December 1, 1995. She was a member of Oakland Baptist Church. Surviving are her husband, Hugh H. FARRIS, Fred Jackson, 73, of Salem, died Thursday, November 30, 1995. He was retired from General Electric. He was a member and trustee of St. Paul Lutheran Church. He was a member of the Kazim Temple, Scottish Rites, Taylor Lodge AF & AM #23, BFW Post 1264 and an Army veteran, serving in World War II. He was a charter member of the 200 Club. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Nancy Ellen, and is survived by his wife, Willie Weeks Farris; daughter and son-in-law, Susan E. and Mark Worsham, Chesterfield; grandchildren, Catherine, Walter and Audrey Worsham; his brother, Harry C. Farris, Roanoke; special friend, Jamie Jackson, Shawnee, Kansas. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, located at Peters Creek Road South and North Lakes Drive, by the Rev. Joseph G. FRANKLIN, Virginia Odell Lawhorne, 79, of Blue Ridge, passed away Thursday, November 30, 1995, in a local hospital. She was the widow of Claude Allen Franklin. Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Rodney A. and Betty Franklin, Roanoke, Jerry W. and Lau ra Franklin, Blue Ridge, David L. and Katy Franklin, Montvale; three daughters and sons-in-law, Gloria and Ferney E. Singletary, Hopewell, Carolyn Wright and T. M. Aheron, Roanoke, Sandra and Samuel R. West, Vinton; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; one sister, Louise St. Clair, Vinton. HINKLEY, Mildred Fizer, 70, of Christiansburg, died Friday, December 1, 1995 in Montgomery Regional Hospital. She is survived by three daughters, Betty Moore, Radford, Barbara Otey, Christiansburg, Gale Hunter, Riner; four sons, Billy Hinkley, Floyd, Marvin Hinkley, Radford, Teddy Hinkley, Riner, Forest Hinkley, Riner; one brother, Vernon Fizer, Christiansburg; two sisters, Evelyn Burton, Christiansburg, Ruby Martin, Christiansburg; sixteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren. KING, Annie Lawrence, (""Pue"") of Salem, died Thursday, November 30, 1995. She was retired from Elizabeth Arden and a member of West Salem Baptist Church. Survivors include one daughter, Ann Fleck and husband Jeff D. Booth; two sisters, Marie Mowles, Christine Journell; two grandchildren that she loved very very much, Zeus Altis and wife Suzy, Chrystal Altis; two great-grandchildren, Tiffany Schara, Ka lley Altis; all of Salem. MANNING, Jettie Darcus Southern, 63, of 2102 Peppers Ferry Road, Pulaski, died early Friday morning, December 1, 1995 at the Pulaski Community Hospital. She was born on January 4, 1932 in Iredell Co., N. C., and she was the daughter of the late Earl D. and Malgie N. Southern. She was also preceded in death by one brother, Little William Southern. She devoted her life to taking care of other people, with the last 19 years at the Randolph House Home for Adults, Pulaski. Surviving are her husband, William E. (Bill) Manning, Pulaski; four daughters, Joyce D. Gray, Brigitte D. Manning, Tamala M. Largen, all of Pulaski, Deborah Ann Cox, Newport News; two special sons-in-law, Kenneth W. Gray, Pulaski, Fred W. Cox Jr., Newport News; three special friends of the family, Douglas Hedge, Bernard LaFleur and Matt LaFleur; five grandchildren, Angie, Aaron, Brad, Geoffrey and Ciera; one great-grandchild, Jackie; two sisters, Luna S. McGUIRE, Dorothy H., 68, of Farmville, formerly of Roanoke, died Friday, December 1, 1995 at Holly Manor Nursing Home, Farmville. Born December 7, 1926 at Hagerstown, Md., she was the daughter of Estie Hevener and the late Fillmer Hevener Sr. Prior to retirement, she was employed at ``The Canteen"" at the V. A. Medical Center, Salem. She is survived by her mother, of Farmville; a daughter, Sandra Deiderich, Springfield; two brothers, Fillmer Hevener Jr., Farmville, Donald Ray Hevener, Gentry, Ark.; and one grandson, Matthew Dinger, Fairfax. A service will be conducted 2:30 p.m. Sunday at Bear Funeral Home, Churchville, with burial in Green Hill Cemetery, Churchville. PHILLIPS, Margaret Houghton, 98, died November 23, 1995 at The Martha Jefferson House in Charlottesville. She was born February 3, 1897 in Cleveland, Ohio, and had been a long time resident of Charlottesville. She is survived by three sons, David H. Phillips, Wayne, Pa., Dr. John H. Phillips, Mt. Vernon, Wash., and Frederic H. Phillips, Troutville; eleven grandchildren; and ten great-grandchildren; and three daughters-in-law.

ROBINSON, Linda Deane Haywood, 52, of Roanoke, formerly of Covington, died at home Thursday, November 30, 1995. Mrs. Robinson was born July 18, 1943, the daughter of the late Jack L. and Frances O'Neil Haywood. Mrs. Robinson is survived by her husband, James R. (Ronnie) Robinson, Roanoke; stepson, James R. (J.R.) Robinson Jr. and his wife, Colleen; and their daughters, Heather and Brittany, of Warner Robbins, Ga.; a sister, Gloria O'Neil, Columbus, Ohio; sister and brother-in-law, Lori and Bob Munford, Roanoke; four nieces, Laura Schultz, San Francisco, Calif., Loretta Snider, Colorado Springs, Colorado, Lisa Platt, Bowie, Md., Lucienne Lester, Chicago, Ill.; one nephew, Timothy Newland, Roanoke; two great-nephews, Jacob Snider, Colorado Springs, Colorado and Brandon Newland, Roanoke; one aunt, Mary O'Neil, Covington; two cousins, Beth Moody and Meg Crawford, both of Covington; and two special friends, Kenneth Newland and Kevin Lynch, both of Roanoke. Mrs. Robinson was preceded in death by her uncle, William F. O'Neil and her former husband, Robert P. (Bobby) Leitch Sr. Mrs. Robinson was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Covington, where a memorial Mass will be held on Monday, December 4, 1995 at 1 p.m. Mrs. Robinson's remains have been donated to the Virginia Department of Health for cancer research. It was her wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Gentle Shepherd Hospice or the American Cancer Society, in her memory. ROZIER, Elizabeth Gilmore, 90, of Lexington, died Thursday, November 30, 1995 at St onewall Jackson Extended Care Facility. Born in Brownsburg on August 25, 1905, she was the daughter of the late Herbert and Virginia Porter Gilmore. Before retirement, she was a LPN at Belview Hospital in New York City, N.Y. She was a member of Randolph Street Methodist Church. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Rozier. She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, Bernard Franklin Butler Jr., and wife, Leisley, Lexington; a grandson, Bernard Franklin Butler III, Lexington; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, December 3, at Randolph Street United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Willie Butler officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Lexington. The body will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. SPRINKEL, Barbara Tate, 60, of Fincastle, died Friday, December 1, 1995. Mrs. Sprinkel was a member of Woodland Church for 50 years, a lifetime member of the Fincastle Rescue Squad, and retired after 35 year of service with the V.P.I. Extension Service. She was preceded in death by her father, Martin Luther Tate, one son, Samuel E. Sprinkel, Jr, one brother, Martin Luther (``Boy'') Tate, Jr. She is survived by her husband, Samuel E. Sprinkel; her mother, Margaret Tate, both of Fincastle; one daughter and son-in-law, Laura and Lewis G. Smith, Buchanan; one son and daughter-in-law, M. STARKE, Mrs. Onner L., 78, of 3815-C Memory Lane, Abingdon, Maryland, departed this life Friday morning, December 1, 1995 at Fallston General Hospital, Fallston, Maryland. She was the wife of the late Thomas L. Starke. She is survived by three sons, James A. (Jim) Starke, Salem, William C. Starke, Joppatowne, Md., and Paul L.
