RU graduation

RADFORD - Winter commencement ceremonies will be held Sunday, Dec. 10, at Radford University.

The graduate hooding ceremony begins at 10:30 a.m. in Porterfield Hall, with commencement following at 2 p.m. in the Dedmon Center.

President Douglas Covington will join Charles Owens, vice president for academic affairs, and the college deans in presenting degrees to 685 graduates.

Christopher Huther, a 1988 Radford University graduate, is the main speaker.

Now an attorney in Alexandria, Huther received the 1995 Young Alumnus Merit Award at the university's homecoming.

Other speakers Sunday are Karen Waldron, rector of the board of visitors; Jill Alcorn, faculty senate president; Dale Gillam, president of the senior class; and Patrick Ware, graduate college senator.

Hi Y fund-raiser

BLACKSBURG -Dayspring Christian Academy's Hi Y Club is sponsoring a fund-raiser at Fazoli's in Christiansburg Monday, Dec. 11.

The club will earn $1 for every "all-you-can-eat" dinner purchased between 5 and 9 p.m.

Money raised at the event will be used to send club members to the Model General Assembly in Richmond this March.

Fazoli's patrons will be greeted at the door by Hi Y members Monday.

The club members will give customers tickets to be presented when ordering the dinners.
