ANGELILLI, Pietro 69, of Roanoke, died Monday, December 4, 1995. Arrangements by Oakey's North Chapel.
ARMBRISTER, David E., 71, of Route 3, Box 215, Pulaski, died Monday morning, December 4, 1995 at the residence of his son, 209 Dunbar Avenue, Dublin, Va. He was born in Wythe Co. on March 29, 1924. He was a retired employee of the C & P Telephone Co., Pulaski. Mrs. Armbrister was a veteran of WWII and the Korean Conflict, having served in the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of the Draper's Valley Baptist Church. Surviving are his wife, Georgia V. Armbrister, Pulaski; two sons, David Lynwood Armbrister, Dublin, Larry Wayne Armbrister Sr., Draper; one sister, Emily McFall, Pulaski; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 a.m. from the Draper's Valley Baptist Church, with the Rev. Wilfred L. Overton officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Christian Church Cemetery, Draper, with the Pulaski VFW Post #1184 conducting the military graveside rites. Visiting will be Tuesday evening at the Draper's Valley Baptist Church, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Arrangements by Stevens Funeral Home, Inc., Pulaski.
AWBREY, Jearl Weldon, 68, of Roanoke, passed away Sunday, December 3, 1995. He is survived by his wife, Mary Ann Awbrey, Maryville, Tenn.; daughter, Donna Wisenhut, Lewisville, Texas; stepchildren, Clyde Bumgarner, Lexington Park, Md., Patricia Pickins, Linda Sue Hooper, both of Maryville, Tenn.; 12 grandchildre n; 1 great-grandchild; sisters, Margie Foltz, Liberty Center, Ind., Edwana Waddell, Wichita Falls, Texas. Funeral services will be held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel, Salem, with Dr. C. Kenneth Wright officiating. Interment will be in Culpepper National Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.

CALLAHAN, Frank Jr., of Edmond, Okla., formerly of Roanoke, died Thursday, November 30, 1995. He was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lucy Callahan. Surviving are his wife, Betty Callahan; and a sister, Mary Jane Callahan, Roanoke.
COX, Lucille Alderman, 69, of Willis, passed away Monday, December 4, 1995 at Radford Community Hospital. She is survived by two daughters, Millie Gore, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Carol Douglas, Big Island; three sons, Lewis Cox, Indian Vall ey, Milton Ward, Myrtle Beach, S.C., Eugene Cox; mother, Vada Conner Alderman, Stuart; five sisters, Ruth Austin, Radford, Irene Alderman, Christiansburg, Clara Williams, Stuart, Ruby Sloan, Christiansburg, Rosetta (Judy) Reynolds, Meadows of Dan; three brothers, Glenn Alderman, Greenville, Tenn., Frank Alderman, Bassett, Joseph Alderman Jr., Eston, Md.; three half sisters, Beulah Linkous, Riner, Edna Marshall and Loula Mae Cockram, both of Vesta; four grandchildren. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Maberry Funeral Home Chapel, with the Rev. Joe Cox officiating. Burial will be in the Conner Cemetery. EDWARDS, Gene Clayburn, 56, of Christiansburg, died suddenly early Sunday morning, December 3, 1995, at Montgomery Regional Hospital of an apparant heart attack. The funeral will be 11 a.m. Tuesday from the St. Paul United Methodist Church, conducted by the Rev. Warren Williams and the Rev. Douglas Kenney. Interment will follow in St. Matthews Cemetery near Riner. Arrangements are being handled by the Richardson-Horne Funeral Home.
GOODBAR, Earl Trenton, 62, of Lexington, died Sunday, December 3, 1995 in the Augusta Medical Center. Mr. Goodbar was born May 31, 1933 in Rockbridge County, a son of the late J. Houston Goodbar and Florence Pennington Goodbar. He attended St. Patrick's Catholic Church and had been a resident of the Shenandoah Valley Health Care Center for a year. Surviving are num erous cousins. Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 1995 at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with Father J. Morton Biber officiating. Burial will follow in the Collierstown Presbyterian Church Cemetery. Memorial donations should be made to the Lexington First Aid or to St. Patrick's Catholic Church. GUTHRIE, Claude Sidney, 90, of Salem, died December 4, 1995. He is survived by his daughters, Margaret M. Widner and Elizabeth A. Slusher; grandson, Russell Widner; brothers Robert N. Guthrie and Billy B. Guthrie; sisters, Beatrice Stanback and Audrey Dyer. Graveside services will be held noon Thursday at Cedar Lawn Borough Park. The family will receive friends Wednesday at the Lotz Roanoke Chapel.
HALE, Julia Kathryn Sloan, 71, of Roanoke, died Monday, December 4, 1995. She was the widow of William L. Hale and is survived by five sons, Ronnie L. Hale, Salem, Woodrow W. Hale, James L. Hale, Carl W. Hale, all of Roanoke, Richard K. Hale, Baltimore, Md.; one daughter, Edith Carol Tennies, Salem. Also surviving are three brothers, two sisters, twelve grandchildren, and thirteen great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Roanoke Chapel , 2 p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 1995 with the Reverend James H. Wingfield officiating. Interment will be at Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. HOBSON, Nell K., 82, of Waynesville, Mo., died Thursday, November 30, 1995. Nell was born May 30, 1913, in Giles County, Va., and moved to Roanoke to a family farm as a child. She married John Cannon Hobson on July 31, 1942, and t hey lived in several towns in West Virginia and Virginia where Cannon worked as station agent for the C & O Railway. Nell returned to Roanoke in 1960 after Cannon's death and worked at The Roanoker Restaurant until her retirement. In 1984, she moved to Texas to live with her son, and then to Fort Leonard Wood where he was assigned as inspector general. Nell is survived by her son, LTC (Ret.) George K. Hobson. Graveside services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday, December 6, 1995, at Sherwood Memorial Park, Salem. Arrangements are being handled by Lotz Funeral Home, Roanoke
HODGES, Mattie Jones, 96, of Pulaski and was formerly a resident of Cripple Creek for 50 years, died Sunday, December 3, 1995 in the Wythe County Community Hospital. She was born in Carroll County, the daughter of Clark and Polly Jones. She was preceded in death by her husband of 41 years, Haney Monroe Hodges, Sr., and a son, Harold P. (""Buddy"") Hodges. She is survived by two daughters and son-in-law, Betty and Dow Neece, South Boston, Va., Doris Sage, Waldorf, Md.; three sons and daughters-in-law, Wayne Hodges, of Sebring, Fla., H. M. Hodges, Jr., Pulaski, James Hodges, Hanover, Md.; one daughter in law, Dorothy Hodges Crawford, Rural Retreat; 14 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; and 3 great-great-grandchildren; along with several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 6, 1995 at 2:00 p.m. in the Mt. Hope United Methodist Church with the Rev. Bill Hinton and the Rev. Tazz Reid officiating. The body will placed in the church one hour before service time. Interment will follow in the Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Grubb Funeral Home, Tuesday, December 5, 1995. Those wishing to give memorials, may give in memory to the Mt. HOGE, Evelyn Byrd, 92, of Pearisburg, died Monday morning, December 4, 1995, in the Sunnyside Retirement Community in Harrisonburg. Mrs. Hoge was born on December 11, 1902 in Georgia, and was a daughter of the late Jay Wade and Katherine Meyrick Byrd. Mrs. Hoge was a member of the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church, the first woman Elder at the church, a charter member of the Pearisburg Women's Club, past member of the Pearisburg Garden Club, and other church and civic activities. She is survived by two daughters, Kathryn H. McClaugherty, Pearisburg, Byrd H. Bryan, White Gate; one sister, Josephine Byrd McDougle, Yaupon Beach, N.C.; four grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2.p.m. Wednesday, December 6, 1995 at the Pearisburg Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. Alan Harvey and the Rev. James E. Guthrie officiating. Burial will follow in the Birchlawn Burial Park in Pearisburg. The family will receive friends Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Givens Funeral Home. JACKSON, Peter Whitford, 66, died at home on Sunday evening, December 3, 1995. Mr. Jackson was born in Dublin, Ireland. His parents, Major Frank W. Jackson, C.B.E., D.S.O. and Lily Cumins Jackson, his sister Joan Goulding, and brother, Frank predeceased him. Mr. Jackson was graduated from Beaumont, Windsor, and Trinity College, Cambridge University and served in the British Territorial Army in England and Germany. He was a Captain in the artillery. He immigrated from England to the U.S. in 1957, and was employed by E.R. Squibb & Sons for 30 years. He retired to Roanoke in 1988. Mr. Jackson is survived by his wife, Mary Cleary Jackson; Victoria A. Traynor, (who joined the Jackson family about 1930); a sister-in-law; two brothers-in-law; several cousins in Ireland; 19 nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held at St. Andrews Cemetery (Salem Turnpike, N.W.) on Thursday at 1 p.m., conducted by Father Randy Rule. Thank you for not sending flowers. MOSES, Lydia Lucille, (``Cil''), 67, of Salem, died Monday, December 4, 1995, after a long illness. Sur viving are four daughters, Frances Huffman, Troutville, Linda Moses, Roanoke, Adrianna (Andi) Brickey, Salem, Susie Moses, Elliston; five grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one special son-in-law, Arnold Huffman; five sisters; four brothers; a loving and caring friend, Katrina Perdue. Funeral services will be conducted at Lotz Salem Chapel Wednesday, December 6, at noon, with the Rev. T. G. Ayers and the Rev. Bruce Robinson officiating. REGNIER, Frank C. Sr., 74, of Roanoke, died Sunday, December 3, 1995. He was retired from the Times-World Corp, where he was employed for 43 years. Surviving are his wife of 48 years, Helen Snedegar Regnier; son and daughter-in-law, Frank C. Regnier Jr. and Nancy Regnier, of Roanoke; daughter and son-in-law, Sherry Sunthimer and Jerry Sunthimer, of Homer, Alaska; son and daughter-in-law, Earl H. Regnier and Pam Regnier, of Vinton; daughter and son-in-law, Susan McKimmy and Ed McKimmy of Bedford County; nine grandchildren, Lora Vogles, Portland, Ore., Angela Cummings, So. Whitley, Ind., Amy Lowe, Harrisonburg, Jamey Martin, Roanoke, Lisa Regnier, Roanoke, Matthew McKimmy and Nathan McKimmy, Bedford County, Misty Regnier and Elisa Regnier, Roanoke; two great-grandchildren, Jordan and Lauren Martin, Roanoke; two sisters-in-law, Ruth Regnier, Roanoke, Edith Causey, Virginia Beach; and a nephew, Jack Regnier, Salem. TRUMAN, Roswell, 96, of Lexington, died Sunday, December 3, 1995 in the Stonewall Jackson Hospital, Lexington. He was born on August 18, 1899 in Bayville (L.I.) N.Y., a son of the late William Truman and Helen (Fitch) Truman Cobb. Mr. Truman retired as Executive Vice-President of Abercronbie and Fitch Sporting Goods Company, New York City. He was a graduate of Williams College, Williamstown, Mass. Mr. Truman was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War I. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Marjorie (Dirkes) Truman , and his second wife, Grace (Brandon) Truman. Survivors include a daughter, Dorothy Truman, Rockbridge Baths; and one grandson, Mark Fitch Truman, Sunrise, Fla. Mr. Truman was the last surviving member of his immediate family. Memorial services will be announced at a later date. Memorial donations may be made to the Red Cloud Indian School, Inc., Pine Ridge, S.D. 57770. WOODFORD, M. Harmon, 79, of Bedford, died Monday, December 4, 1995 in Bedford County Memorial Hospital. He wa s born in Bedford County on October 24, 1916, a son of the late John Walter Woodford and Virginia Susan Hogan Woodford. He was retired as president of Woodford Brothers, Inc., a U. S. Army veteran of World War II, and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Gloria St.Clair Woodford; a daughter, Rebecca Lynn Woodford, Lynchburg; two stepdaughters, Mrs. June Dean, Rustburg, and Mrs. Beverly Grubbs, Roanoke; three sisters, Mrs. Gaynelle W. Cooper, Birmingham, Ala., Mrs. Marie W. Everett, Henderson, N.C. and Mrs. Royce W. Teague, Roanoke; also four stepgrandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted Wednesday, December 6, 1995 at 11 a.m. at the Carder-Tharp Funeral Chapel, with the Rev. Wessley C. Patterson officiating.
