CHRISTIANSBURG - Cookbooks by students and volunteers of Literacy Volunteers of the New River Valley are on sale. The 300-recipe book includes familiar fare as well as out-of-the-ordinary dishes like cactus salad and raccoon stew. Cookbooks are $10.

February car show
ROANOKE - The Roanoke Valley Charity Car Show Committee Inc. will hold its 16th Muscular Dystrophy Car Show on Feb. 23-25 at the Roanoke Civic Center.
Custom cars, street rods, race cars, antiques and classics, pro-streets, motorcycles, pickups, muscle cars, 4-wheel drives, off-road vehicles and vans may be entered. There is no fee to enter. Commercial booth space is available. Call 772-3237.
