Hospital adds 2 doctors

BLACKSBURG - Montgomery Regional Hospital has announced the affiliation of two new doctors.

Garry E. Bayliss will practice general rheumatology. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina School of Medicine. Bayliss finished a residency at the University of Iowa Hospital and a fellowship at the University of Michigan Medical Center.

He is board certified in rheumatology and internal medicine, and has medical interests in general rheumatology, arthritis, degenerative joint disease, bursitis, osteoporosis, myopathies and problems of striated muscles.

Franklin T. Thom is a family practice physician who received his medical degree from Uniformed Service University of Health Sciences in Bethesda, Md. Thom completed his residency at the Charleston Naval Hospital in Charleston, S.C., and was general medical officer on the USS Blue Ridge in Yokosuke, Japan.

He is board certified in family practice, and was previously affiliated with the Naval Medical Clinic in Key West, Fla., and the Talent Family Practice office in Talent, Ore.

Open house at Elks Club

PULASKI - The Pulaski County Chamber of Commerce's Holiday Open House will be at the Main Street Elks Club on Saturday beginning at 6 p.m.

The event will be sponsored by Pulaski Community Hospital and Volvo GM Heavy Truck Corp. Hors d'oeuvres and cocktails will be available.

Breakfast with legislators

BLACKSBURG - The Greater Blacksburg Chamber of Commerce will hold a legislative breakfast with Del. Jim Shuler, D-Blacksburg, and Sen. Madison Marye, D-Shawsville, Tuesday at 8 at the Blacksburg Marriott.

New name, new home

CHRISTIANSBURG - The Copy Center in the Old Town Mall in Christiansburg has changed its name and moved.

The business is now called Old Town Printing and Copying and is in the space in the mall formerly occupied by Comprehensive Computer Solutions.
