CELEBRATIONS - WEDDINGS I

Beecher-Reed

Amy Beth Reed and Grant Collin Beecher were married on July, 1, 1995 at Parkway Wesleyan Church in Roanoke, Va. Amy is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Benny Reed of Vinton, and Grant is the son of the Rev. and Mrs. Garry Beecher of Frankfort, Indiana. The reception was held at Friendship Manor Residents' Center.

The Rev. Paul Boss of Greentown, Indiana officiated, assisted by the Rev. John Ott of Parkway Wesleyan, and the Rev. Garry Beecher.

Julie Reed, sister of the bride, and Nancy Minnich, friend of the bride, served as maids of honor. Bridesmaids were Melanie Beecher, sister of the groom; Jill Shroyer and Jennifer Taylor, all of Indiana; and Kara Staufer of Salem, Va., friends of the couple.

Greg Beecher, brother of the groom, and Brian Sheltz, friend of the groom, served as the best men. Andy Kidder, Darby Scalf, Jeremy Royer, friends of the couple from Indiana, and David Reed, brother of the bride, served as groomsmen. Jeremy Boss and Brad Wolf of Indiana, and Tim Staufer of Salem, Va. were the ushers. The flowergirls were Nicci Moats and Lisa Fuller, with Philip Allman as the ringbearer, all of Roanoke.

Special music was presented by Sandy Deal and Jane Price of Salem, Va. and Amy Minnich of Indiana. Vocal solos were by Lori Boss, Brad Rennaker, Greg Beecher, and Nancy Minnich, all of Indiana, and Benny Reed and Dale Moats of Roanoke.

The guestbook was attended by Leigh Ann Carter of Floyd. A very special thanks to Shelia Granger and Greg Beecher for all their loving assistance.

The bride is a graduate of William Byrd High School and Indian Wesleyan University and is employed at the Marion Schools Credit Union. The groom attends IWU and is the Youth Pastor at Greentown Wesleyan Church in Indiana where the couple resides.

Boone-Knight

Kimberly Joy Knight and Derrick Quave Boone were united in marriage Saturday, November 18, 1995 at Holy Trinity Episcopal Church, Greensboro, N.C. The ceremony was performed by the Reverend John Shelley Akers, III. Music was provided by C. Benjamin Brafford, organist an d Reuben Council, flutist. Sam Hensley served as crucifer. Readers during the ceremony were Mr. and Mrs. James Arthur Hines. Greeters were Miss Margaret Knight, cousin of the bride, and Miss Amy Queen.

Following the ceremony, a reception was held in the Cultural Arts Center Atrium. Entertainment was provided by ``Bob Collins and the Fabulous Five''. On Friday before the wedding, the bride's aunts, Mrs. Dayl Cutts and Dr. Beth Frye hosted a bridesmaid's brunch at the home of Mrs. Cutts, and the groom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner at the Alumni House at UNC, Greensboro.

The bride is the daughter of Tommy Frank Knight of Greensboro, and Toni Frye Knight of Greensboro. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Doris Frye and the late Walter Thomas ``Tee'' Frye and the late William Earl and the late Margaret King Knight. She is a graduate of Page High School and received a BS in Biology from Lenoir Rhyne College. She is a special education teacher with the Asheboro City Schools.

The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Jerry McDaniel Boone of Ferrum, Va. He is the grandson of Mrs. Odessa Glover and the late James Mack Glover, and the late Samuel Clark Boone, Sr., and the late Catherine Cureton Boone. He is a graduate of Franklin County High School. He received a BA in History from Lenoir Rhyne College and a BS in Environmental Science from Ferrum College. He is a Chemical Analyst with the City of High Point.

The bride wore her mother's wedding gown. She was attended by Miss Belinda Kern of Durham, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Miss Erin Boone of Ferrum, Va., sister of the groom; Miss Leslie Devaney of Greensboro; Miss Christine Cutts of Summerfield, cousin of the bride; Mrs. Allison Lemons of Stoneville, cousin of the bride; and Miss Susan Hancock of Stoneville, cousin of the bride. Katherine Cutts of Summerfield, cousin of the bride, was the flower girl.

The groom chose his father to serve as best man. Groomsmen were William Bowen of Frisco, Col.; Jason Knight of Greensboro, brother of the bride; Kenneth Pearson of Wilmington; Randall Welch of Greensboro, and Gary Wozniak of New Wilmington, Pa. The ringbearers were the cousins of the bride, Walter Cutts of Summerfield and Seth Sankary of Oak Park, Ill.

Following a wedding trip to Charleston, South Carolina, the couple will reside in Randleman, N.C.

Brooks-Strutt

Michelle Strutt and Bryan Brooks were married November 11 at Thrasher Memorial Chapel. The Rev. Wm. Anthony Layman and Rev. George Wesky Jones officiated. A reception followed at the Jefferson Center.

The bride is a daughter of Gale Strutt and the late Clyde Strutt of Roanoke. The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. William Brooks of Roanoke.

Tracie Patterson of Knoxville was matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Sarah Strutt, sister of bride, Marion Frazier, cousin of bride, and Robyn Brooks, sister-in-law and life-long friend of the bride. Rebekah Anne Strutt, sister of bride, was the ringbearer and Ashlyn Haynes was the flowergirl. Matt Cox of Memphis served as best man. Groomsmen were Bill Brooks, father of groom, Gary Brooks and Rusty Brooks, brothers of the groom. Ruth Frazier was the director of the wedding, and the guestbook was attended by Debbie and John Sklar.

The bride is a graduate of Northside High School and the University of Tennessee. She is a certified Athletic Trainer. The groom is a graduate of Cave Spring High School and VMI. He is a civil engineer.

The newlyweds reside in Richmond, Va.

Bunn-Lyons

Nicole Annette Lyons and Brian Joseph Bunn were united in marriage on Saturday, November 18, 1995 at Central United Methodist Church in Radford, Virginia. The Reverend Warren Wattenbarger, assisted by the Reverend Clay Hamm, officiated at the 5 p.m. double-ring ceremony. A church reception followed.

The bride was escorted by her father and given in marriage by her parents. Dana Burnette served as matron of honor. The bridesmaids were Vicki Ayers, Lori Drumheller, Shannon Dubuisson, and Kim Robinson.

The best man was the groom's father. Brett Bunn, Joel Bunn, David Lyons, Tim Smith, and Jerry Young served as groomsmen.

Attending the guestbook were Debbie Baker and Renee Rogers. Reception hostesses were Sylvia Lloyd, Janet Whitt, Emily Burnette, Melisa Lyons, and Kristie Montgomery. Music was provided by organist and pianist Carter Edmonson; trumpeter, Wendy Cox; and soloists, Todd Millsaps and Jennifer Bunn. Clint McCain provided the music for the reception. The wedding and reception were directed by Dr. and Mrs. Jim Kilbourne.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Doyle Lyons of Radford, Virginia. She is a graduate of Appalachian State University and is employed as a teacher and coach by Carroll County Schools. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joe H. Bunn of Fancy Gap, Virginia. He is a graduate of Emory and Henry College and Virginia Tech, and is employed as a teacher and coach at Oak Hill Academy, Mouth of Wilson, Virginia.

Following a wedding cruise to Key West, Florida and Cozumel, Mexico, the newlyweds are living in Galax, Virginia.

Caldwell-Salyers

Angela Marie Salyers and Gary D. Caldwell, Jr., were married November 25, 1995, at Oakland Baptist Church with Rev. Kelly Dampeer, Sr., officiating. The reception was held at Lancerlot Banquet Room. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Kanoel T. Salyers of Vinton. She graduated from William Byrd High School and is employed by Roanoke Orthopaedic Center. The bridegroom is the son of Mr. Gary D. Caldwell, Sr., of Roanoke and Mrs. Barbara Vandergrift Myers of Roanoke. He graduated from William Fleming High School and is employed by C. Arthur Weaver Co. The matron of honor was Deana S. Griffin of Fort Worth, Texas, friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Tracy Loyd of Vinton, friend of bride, and Lori Caldwell of Roanoke, sister of groom. Jordan Griffin of Fort Worth, Texas, friend of bride, was flowergirl. Father of groom, Gary D. Caldwell, Sr., served as best man. Groomsmen included Patrick T. Salyers, Vinton, brother of bride, Danny Caldwell, Roanoke, brother of groom, and junior groomsman, Gary D. Caldwell III, son of groom. Greg Pinkard of Roanoke, friend of groom, was usher. The guest book was attended by Michelle Humphrey. Soloist was Rhonda Weeks, organist Joyce Elliott and photography by Greg King of Vinton. The newlyweds are residing in Roanoke after a honeymoon trip to the Bahamas. Special thanks to all of our friends and family who helped in making our dre am come true. We love you all. Also many thanks to Pretty Petals in Salem for all their help and beautiful arrangements.

Duralia-McClintock

Mary Brandon McClintock and Michael Christopher Duralia were married Dec. 9, 1995 at 11:30 am in Christiansburg Presbyterian Church by Dr. Leighton Culler. The reception was held at Donaldson Brown on the Virginia Tech campus. The matron of honor was Laura Prussin of Blacksburg, sister of the bride. The bridesmaid was Polly Sebastian of Columbia, S.C. The best man was David Duralia of Charleston, S.C., brother of the groom. The usher was David Emmerich of Hickory, N.C. Ringbearer was Connor Robert Prussin, nephew of the bride. The candlelighters were A. J. Prussin and Trey McClintock, nephews of the bride, and Mark Rockage, godson of the groom.

The bride is a daughter of Barbara and Don McClintock of Blacksburg, Va. and granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Robert L. Hickok of Christiansburg, Va. She is a graduate of Clemson University with a B.S. in Nursing and is employed by Baptist Medical Center, Easley, S.C. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul R. Duralia of Spartanburg, S.C., is a graduate of the Georgia Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. He is employed by Square D Company in Seneca, S.C. The newlyweds will live in Easley, S.C. after the wedding trip to the Smokey Mountains, Tennessee.

Feltis-Waugaman

Sheila Annette Waugaman and John William Feltis were married December 9, 1995, in Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Hutchins officiating. The reception was held at Botetourt Country Club. The matron of honor was Shannon Peters, friend of bride. Bridesmaids were Samantha Hill, Connie Huffman, friends of bride, Crystal Feltis, sister of groom, and junior bridesmaid Lauren Fringer, cousin of bride. Jessica Fringer, cousin of bride, was flower girl. Father of the groom, Roy Feltis, served as best man. Ushers were Tony Spencer, cousin of groom, Travas Waugaman, brother of bride, and John Lewis, friend of groom. Jamie Fringer, cousin of bride, was ring bearer. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Waugaman, Jr., Daleville, Va. She graduated from Lord Botetourt High School, Daleville, Va., and is employed by Central Fidelity National Bank. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy V. Feltis, Damascus, Va. He graduated from Lord Botetourt High School, Daleville, Va. and is employed by Roanoke & Botetourt Telephone Co. The newlyweds will live in Daleville, Va., after a wedding trip to Gatlinburg, Tenn.

Greene-Hamilton

Deana Nicole Hamilton and Kevin Lee Greene were married December 9, 1995, at North Roanoke Baptist Church. Officiating the ceremony were Rev. David Henson, uncle of the bride, and Dr. Daryl Crim.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell L. Hamilton of Roanoke. She is a graduate of Northside High School and is employed by First Union Bank. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. David L. Greene of Roanoke. He is a graduate of Northside High School and is employed by Triangle Pacific.

The maid of honor was Jennifer Hamilton of Roanoke, sister of the bride, and the matron of honor was Terry Nelson of Roanoke, sister of the groom. The bridesmaids were Amanda Frazier, Ginny Young and Tammy Ogle of Roanoke, and Tracy Greene of Newport News, sister-in-law of the groom.

The junior bridesmaids were Melissa Floro of Indianapolis, Ind., and Sarah Henson of Pfofftown, N. C., cousins of the bride. The flowergirl was Lauren Floro of Indianapolis, Ind., cousin of the bride. The guest book was attended by Tracy Jones of Roanoke.

David L. Greene served as his son's best man. The groomsmen were Anthony Green e of Newport News and Neil Greene of Roanoke, brothers of the groom; Bobby Nelson, brother-in-law of the groom, Chad Briscoe and Bobby Wampler, all of Roanoke. The ushers were Alberto Rodrequez of Madrid, Spain; Chad Hunter of Charlotte, N. C.; and Ryan Hamilton, brother of the bride. The junior groomsmen were Christopher Henson of Pfofftown, N. C., and Justin Floro of Indianapolis, Ind., cousins of the bride. The ringbearer was Jordan Floro of Indianapolis, Ind., cousin of the bride.

Sherry Paulette Kingery and Greg Dwaine Isenberg were married October 21, 1995 at the home of the bride's parents.

The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Kingery of Elliston, Va. The groom is the son of Charlette and Lowell Isenberg of Piney Flats, Tennessee.

Teke' LeAnne Long and Duane W. Ison Jr. were married December 9, 1995 in Raleigh Court Presbyterian Church by Pastor Tupper Garden. The reception followed at the Elks Lodge. Matron of honor was Tracy Long Garrett, sister of the bride. Maid of honor was Whitney Long, sister of the bride. Bridesmaids were Jami Long Bruner, cousin of the bride, Nikki Long, cousin of the bride, Annette Ison, sister-in-law of the groom, Michelle Hartless, best friend, Barbara Dinan and Connie Greer, friends. Flowergirls were Caitlyn Long and Nicole Long, cousins of the bride and Ali Jacob, friend of the family. The best man was Duane Ison Sr., the grooms father. Ushers were Steven Ison, the grooms brother, D.J. Garrett, brother-in-law of the bride, Scott McKinney, Justin Prillaman, Tommy Hard, Preston Barker and Scott Price, friends of the groom. The bride is a daughter Darrell and Nancy (Stevie) Long of Salem. She is a graduate of Glenvar High School and attended Virginia Western Community College. She is employed by PYA Monarch as a Buyer/Merchandiser. The groom is a son of Duane Ison Sr. of Roanoke and Dorothy Ison of Norton, Va. He is a graduate of William Byrd High School and is attending Radford University. The newlyweds will live in Roanoke after a honeymoon trip to Winter Green Ski Resort.

Jones-Marshall

Jane Ann Marshall and Kenneth Wayne Jones, Jr. were united in marriage on September 9, 1995 at Bonsack United Methodist Church. The Rev. John Ashley officiated the ceremony. The reception was held at the Elks Lodge.

The bride was escorted by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifford A. Marshall, Jr. The maid of honor was Debra Marshall of Philadelphia, Pa., sister of bride. Best man was Danny Beckner of Roanoke, uncle of groom. Ushers were Tony Robtison of Roanoke, brother-in-law of the groom; James Marshall of Roanoke, brother of the bride; and Chris Smith of Roanoke, friend of bride and groom. Ringbearer was Mitchell Robtison of Roanoke, nephew of the groom.

The bride is a graduate of Radford University . She received a bachelor of science degree in nursing. She is employed with Community Hospital of Roanoke Valley as a Registered Nurse in Surgery.

The groom is employed with Contracting Enterprises, Inc., as an industrial mechanic.

The couple honeymooned in Cancun, Mexico and will reside in Roanoke.

Jones-Sink

Denise Ann Sink and 2nd Lt. Jeffrey Marc Jones were married Dec. 9, 1995 in Vinton Baptist Church by Dr. William L. Ross, Pastor. A reception followed in the church fellowship hall. Maid of honor was Jennifer Mullin, friend of the bride. Matron of honor was Robin Jones, sister-in-law of the groom. Bridesmaid was Robin Lambert, friend of the bride. Flowergirl was Shea Ross. Best man was James Jones, father of the groom. Ushers were Jeff Sink, brother of the bride, Craig Jones and Chris Jones, brothers of the groom. Ringbearer was Will Ross. Candlelighters were Tim Sink and Greg Sink. The guestbook was attended by Lisa Jones. The photographer was Barry Brooks.

The bride wore a bridal sheath of satin & beaded alencon lace. The sheer yoke of English netting was highlighted with cascading pearls. The detachable cathedral length train was embellished with lace and cut-outs of beaded illusion. The bride carried a bouquet of red and white roses and babys breath.

The bride is a daughter of Wayne and Gloria Sink of Vinton. She is a graduate of William Byrd High School and attended Va. Western Comm. College. The bridegroom, son of James & Anne Jones of Newport News, Va., is a graduate of Virginia Military Institute in Lexington and is serving in the United States Air Force. The newlyweds will live in Montgomery, Alabama after the wedding trip to Disney World.
