LENGTH: Short : 24 lines
ILLUSTRATION: PHOTO: Although the Ramones might be better known and have

generated more headlines lately because they're calling it quits, it

is still White Zombie that is headlining tonight's concert at the

Salem Civic Center. The four-member band has sold more than a

million copies of its last two releases, ``La Sexorcisto: Devil

Music Vol. 1'' and ``Astro-Creep 2000: Songs of Love, Destruction

and Other Synthetic Delusions of the Electric Head,'' which yielded

the band's signature song, ``More Human Than Human.'' A favorite of

MTV's Beavis and Butt-head, White Zombie's formula is a straight-up

mix of skulls-and-sluts cartoon excess, trash-compacting noise and

haunted-house camp. Formed in New York in 1985, the band is now

based in Los Angeles.
