DISABLED VA. MAN GETS HOLIDAY WISH

The Internet is making a Christmas wish come true for a Blacksburg man.

Eric Greenberg, 20, who has Down syndrome, will soon be moving into his own apartment and wanted a Samoyed dog similar to the one he had as a boy to share it with him.

Eric's father, William, spotted an ad for a Samoyed while scanning the Internet.

The ad was placed by Brian Fiorio, a dog warden in Putnam Valley, N.Y., who recently took in a 4-year-old Samoyed. Samoyeds originated in Siberia as sled dogs and have a coat of long, white hair.

The dog, whose name is Jake, was scheduled to be flown to Roanoke on Monday evening - in plenty of time for Christmas.
