BLACKSBURG BICENTENNIAL LOGO SOUGHT

The town needs a logo for its 1998 bicentennial celebration and is asking for your help.

Anyone who works, lives or attends school in Montgomery County can enter a design, which should capture the history of Blacksburg from frontier days to modern times.

Entries should be in black and white and drawn on 12-by-12-inch boards. The logos, which should be simple, must be at least 6 inches by 6 inches. The deadline for entries is Jan. 22 and winners will be announced Feb. 15.

The winning entry will be copyrighted and used on everything from posters to T-shirts. A $100 savings bond also will be given to the winner.
