A North Carolina trucker pleaded guilty in Greene County on Friday to killing two women at truck stops this year.
The body of one woman was found along Interstate 81 in Washington County, Va.
Sean Patrick Goble, 29, of Asheboro, N.C., was sentenced to two consecutive life terms. The murders occurred in Greene and Jefferson counties in Tennessee, and he pleaded guilty to both killings in Greene County.
Goble also faces charges in the killing of a woman in North Carolina. Prosecutors expect him to plead guilty to second-degree murder and get another life term.
Criminal Court Judge James Beckner told Goble he doubted he would ever be paroled.
He is suspected in similar killings in several states.
However, Duane Slone, one of Goble's attorneys, said, ``We believe these are the only three.''
The women were known to frequent truck stops. Their bodies were dumped along interstate highways.
Goble pleaded guilty to suffocating Alice Rebecca Hanes, 36, of Columbus, Ohio, at a truck stop in Jefferson County along Interstate 81. Her body was found March 19 in Kingsport.
He also pleaded guilty to strangling Brenda Kay Hagy, 45, of Bloomington, Ind., at a Greene County truck stop on I-81. Her body was found Jan. 23 in Washington County, Va.
In the statements, he told authorities he lashed out at the women after he argued with them.
