A Surprise Birthday Party for Dorothy ``Dottie'' Raines of Troutville was given Dec. 3, 1995 by her children, Beverly Beckner and Patsy Harris of Troutville and Eugene Raines of Dickson, Tenn. She has five grandchildren the three great-grandchildren. Relatives from Bluefield & Princeton, W. Va. and Goldbond, Va. as well as friends from Troutville, Roanoke, Fincastle, Daleville, Buchanan & Blacksburg attended. The party was given at the Marriott Hotel in Roanoke. ``Dottie'' retired from Rainbow Drug in Buchanan in 1994. She & her late husband, Sherman, were owners of Big Stoney Grocery, Giles Co., prior to moving to Troutville.
