ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

The Consumer Price Index, the nation's primary indicator measuring the cost of living, took an unexpected dip last month, falling from 153.7 points in October to 153.6 in November.

The federal Bureau of Labor Statistics termed the index unchanged. For the last 12 months, inflation has been running at an annual rate of 2.6 percent. The index stood at 149.7 in November 1994, meaning a package of goods and services that cost $149.70 last year was priced at $153.60 last month.

The index is based on average costs in 1982-84.
