BARRETT, Patricia Logwood (Pat), age 56, of Roanoke, died Wednesday, December 20, 1995. Surviving is her husband, James M. Barrett; a son, Steven M. Barrett, Austin, Texas; a daughter, Linda I. Barrett, Roanoke; one brother, William J. Logwood, Jr., Roanoke. The family will receive friends at the residence on Saturday, December 23, 1995. A memorial visitation will be at Oakey's South Chapel from 2 to 4 pm on Saturday evening. BLANKENBECKLER, Clara Kilby, age 74, of Salem, died Thursday, December 21, 1995. She was a member of College Lutheran Church. She is preceded in death by a son, Charles David Blankenbeckler. She is survived by her husband, Charles William Blankenbeckler; 2 daughters and sons-in-law, Peggy and Harry A. Barron, Barbara Jean and Steve Miller; brother, Jack Kilby ; six granddaughters; three great-granddaughters; niece, Anne Gilbert; also several nephews. Funeral services will be held 12:30 pm Saturday, December 23, 1995 at the John M. Oakey & Son Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Robert Ward and the Reverend Herbert Sublett officiating. CABBLER, Earnest William, (``Champ""), 66, of Roanoke, passed away Thursday, December 21, 1995. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army. During the 1960s, he was a professional boxer known as ``Champ Cabbler."" He is survived by his wife, Terry Cabbler; two sons, Anthony Cabbler and Christopher Cabbler; two sisters, Dorothy Basham and Lucy Banks; four brothers and two sisters-in-law, Norris and Mary Lee Cabbler, Donald and Patricia Cabbler, James Cabbler and Alfred Cabbler; three grandchildren; other relatives, and friends. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hamlar-Curtis Chapel, with the Rev. Antonio Thomas officiating. Interment will be in the Cabbler Family Cemetery in Rustburg. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services at the funeral home.

CURE, Mary Carolyn, 73, of Radford, passed away Thursday, December 21, 1995 at her home. Born in St. Paul, Va. on July 3, 1922, she was a member of the Grove United Methodist Church in Radford. She retired after 41 years service with the Radford Army Ammunition Plant as Chief Telephone Operator. Surv iving is one brother and sister-in-law, Raymond Hill Jr. and Bonnie Cure, Madison, N.C.; one sister and brother-in-law, Patricia (Judy) and John Resnick, Tampa, Fla. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 23, 1995, at 11 a.m. at the Grove United Methodist Church in Radford, with the Rev. Clarence G. Dishman officiating. FIZER, Janie Foster, 85, of Christiansburg, died Thursday, December 21, 1995, in Montgomery Regional Hospital. Born in Tennessee on July 15, 1910, she was the daughter of the late Corent Marion and Mary Linsey Shoemaker Foster. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewey Jackson Fizer. Surviving are a daughter, Virginia Troxel, Christiansburg; nine gr andchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a daughter-in-law, Marie Fizer, Christiansburg. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23, 1995, at McCoy Funeral Home Chapel, Blacksburg, with the Rev. Carl Ratcliffe officiating. INGRAM, Nelson B., 81, of Roanoke, died Thursday, December 21, 1995. He was retired from Pet Dairy. Surviving are his wife, Alice (``Gladys"") Radford Ingram; daughters and son-in-law, Norma Jean Simpson of Lansing, Kan., and Linda C. and Clarence Short of Roanoke; four grandchildren, William C. (``Billy"") Simpson Jr., Stephen Simpson, Dana Jo Short and Jean Marie Short, and three sisters, Dorothy Shelor of Roanoke, and Mary Vest and Myra Peters of Floyd. Services will be at Oakey's South Chapel at 11 a.m. Saturday, December 23. The Rev. Frank Feather will officiate. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens. JAMISON, Levi Edward, 97, of Route 1, Boones Mill, died Thursday, December 21, 1995 at his residence. Mr. Jamison was retired from the Roanoke City Fire Department as Captain with 25 years service. He was preceded in death by a son, Billy Wallace Jamison. Survivors include his wife, Eulalia Bowman Jamison; two daughters and sons-in-law, Alma J. and Riner Hall, Nina J. and Raymond Hill, both of Roanoke; two step-daughters and one son-in-law, Doris B. Foster, Rocky Mount, Janie B. and Cornelius Flora, Boones Mill; six grandchildren including, H. Wayne Jamison, Wallace D. Jamison; eight great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; six step-grandchildren; eleven step-great-grandchildren; three step great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Hester J. Wood, Eileen J. Adcock, both of Boones Mill; special caregivers, Linda Divers and Carol Guilliams. Funeral services will be conducted from Antioch Church of the Brethren, 11 a.m. Saturday with Pastors Gerald and Rebecca Baile Crouse officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. JOHNSON, Victoria Michelle Southern, (``Shelley""), 27, of Pembroke, died Wednesday evening, December 20, 1995 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Born in Giles County on September 18, 1968, she was a daughter of Larry Edward and Betty Williams Southern of Pembroke. Shelley was a graduate of Giles High School Class of 1986 and was employed with Pulaski Furniture Corp. Surviving are her husband, James I. Johnson Jr.; a son, Cory Wayne Johnson; and a daughter, Jessica Nicole Johnson at home; her parents; a sister Tammy Lynn Southern of Blacksburg; a brother, Henry Wayne Southern of Pembroke; her maternal grandfather, Ed Williams of Pembroke; her paternal grandparents, Juanita and Henry Southern of Blacksburg. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 23, 1995 at 2 p.m. in the Kendall Funeral Home Chapel in Pembroke with the Rev. David Lawson officiating. JONES, Emily C., 14, daughter of Jerry L. and Caroline C. Jones of 648 Alleghany Avenue, Staunton, died Wednesday, December 20, 1995 at the Children's Medical Center of the University of Virginia Health Sciences Center. She was born February 24, 1981 at Waynesboro and was a ninth grade student at Buffalo Gap High School where she was a member of the chorus. Miss Jones had been a member of the Staunton Civic Dance company and a cheerleader for the Buffalo Gap Quarterback Club football team. A member of Central United Methodist Church, she was a past president of the Junior High Youth Group. Surviving in addition to her parents are a sister, Ann Elizabeth Jones of Staunton; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Elizabeth E. Carter of Staunton; her paternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer G. Jones of Roanoke; her paternal great-grandmother, Mrs. Goldie L. Craft of Roanoke; and two aunts, Dr. Ann R. Carter of Bethlehem, Penn. and Mrs. Samuel (Carol) Canode of Troutville. A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at Central United Methodist Church conducted by Rev. Hugh T. Harris. Burial will be in Thornrose Cemetery. JONES, James Alfred, Rt. 4, Box 347, Forest, died Tuesday, December 19, 1995 at Lynchburg General Hospital. He was the husband of Mrs. Virginia Estelle Anderson Jones. Born in Bedford County, he was a son of the late James W. Jones and the late Mrs. Ruby Bryant Jones, he was a veteran of the U.S. Army. He was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church in Goode, where he served as treasurer of the Kelly Circuit, the Sick Fund, and the Building Fund. In addition to his loving and devoted wife, he is survived by a son, Ronald P. Jones, Forest; two sisters, Mrs. Janie A. Jones Carpenter, Amherst, Mrs. Jamie A. Jones Grissett, Lynchburg; two sons-in-law, Melvin Carpenter and David Grissett; two brothers, Ozell Jones and Samuel Jones, Sr. both of Goode; four sisters, Mrs. Elsie Richie and Mrs. Virginia Wright, both of Bedford, Mrs. Naomi Freeman, Buchanan, Mrs. Genova Jones, Goode; two foster brothers, Pearl Bryant, Willie Hamlett; one foster sister, Joanne Hamlett; one uncle, Roy Bryant; one aunt, Mrs. Susan Williams, all of Goode; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Virginia Anderson, Forest; seven brothers-in-law; six sisters-in-law; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. The family is receiving friends at the residence. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 p.m. from Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, Rev. Ralph Harris officiating, with interment in the church cemetery. He will lie in state at the church for one hour prior to service. The cortege will assemble at the residence at 1:15 p.m. Services are entrusted to the care of Carl B. Hutcherson Funeral Home.

MAYO, Samuel O., 73, of Roanoke County, passed away on Wednesday, December 20, 1995. He was a member of Jerusalem Baptist Church. He is survived by his wife, Esterlene B. Mayo of the home; four daughters, Patricia A. (Marcus) Plater of Suitland, Md., Florence V. (Thomas) Brawner of Waldorf, Md., Valerie A .(Floyd) Kinchens of Suitland, Md., and Sharon R. (Melvin) White of Glendale, Md.; three sons, Lewis J. (Denise) Mayo of Washington, D.C., Michael A. Mayo of Upper Marlboro, Md., and Kenneth L.
