Junior place-kicker Rafael Garcia also made the team after converting 20 of 27 field-goal attempts. He was one of two kickers in Division I-A with as many as 20 field goals.
Tiki Barber, a junior, was selected as an all-purpose back after setting UVa records for rushing yardage (1,397) and all-purpose yardage (1,906) in a season. His brother, a third-year sophomore, was selected at cornerback after intercepting four passes. He also had 10 pass break-ups.

NRVS official resigns
Morris Stephenson of Ferrum has resigned his post at New River Valley Speedway to become promoter/general manager of Lonesome Pine International Raceway at Coeburn, said Ronnie Snoddy, promoter/co-owner of NRVS.
Stephenson, a veteran journalist, has served as director of marketing, publicity and public relations at the Radford track since it opened in 1988 as Pulaski County Speedway. Stephenson succeeds Harold Crook, who has accepted a similar position at Kingsport (Tenn.) Speedway.
The new LPIR promoter served as publicity and public relations director of that speedway for three years when it reopened in 1990 under the NASCAR Winston Racing Series banners.
Prior to joining NRVS, Stephenson held similar positions at Log Cabin Raceway, Franklin County Speedway and Natural Bridge Speedway while serving as editor of a weekly newspaper in Rocky Mount.
``Leaving New River Valley Speedway is one of the toughest decisions I have ever made. I hate leaving all the friends I've gained over the years, but look forward to the new challenge,'' said Stephenson.
Snoddy is in the process of seeking a replacement for Stephenson, who assumes his new duties Jan. 2.
