ILLUSTRATION: PHOTO: ERIC BRADY/Staff. Robert Carder, 45, of Roanoke said he

was driving on Wiley Drive near Roanoke Memorial Hospital on

Saturday afternoon when his car blew a tire, skidded into a concrete

curb and flipped onto its roof. The car slid 150 feet and came to

rest against the base of the railroad overpass at Wiley Drive and

Evans Mill Road. Carder, who said he was wearing his seat belt,

walked away from the accident with a few scrapes on his face.

Roanoke police and fire crews responded to the call, but the

official police report was not available late Saturday.
