An electrical short circuit caused a fire that did an estimated $20,000 in damage to a closet and classroom Tuesday at Northside High School.
The blaze at 8:33 a.m. was confined mainly to the closet, but there was smoke and water damage to a classroom and hall, said a spokesman for Roanoke County Fire Station No. 5.
No injuries were reported. No students were at the school, which was closed for the winter break.
