ROANOKE MAN ROBBED AT GUNPOINT S.D. HARRINGTON

A Roanoke man told police that four men in ski masks entered his apartment early Thursday, held him at gunpoint and fled with a large sum of cash.

Michael E. Nelson, 37, of the 4000 block of Virginia Avenue Northwest, said he was awakened by a loud banging on his door just before 3 a.m.

He opened the door and four men in ski masks grabbed him. One of the men placed the barrel of a handgun into his mouth and threatened to shoot him if he did not hand over his money, he told police.

After stuffing a sock in his mouth and binding his hands and feet with duct tape, Nelson said the men ransacked his apartment and left with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Police said Nelson was not injured during the incident and that no arrests have been made.
