LOUISA CO. MAN CHARGED IN DEATH

A Louisa County man has been charged with first-degree murder in connection with the slaying of a Fredericksburg man.

Lester E. Davis, 22, turned himself in to the Orange County Sheriff's Office about 3 a.m. Saturday, said Sheriff William Spence.

Authorities were seeking Davis in connection with the shooting death Tuesday of Shawn E. Rector, 24, of Fredericksburg.Davis also faces a charge of using a firearm in commission of a felony, Spence said.

He is being held in the Central Virginia Regional Jail in Orange and bond has been set at $50,000, Spence said.Davis is scheduled to appear Wednesday in Orange County General District Court.
