A Collinsville man died in a single-car accident in Henry County early Saturday on U.S. 220.
State police said Christopher Allen Handy, 31, was driving south on 220, three-tenths of a mile north of Virginia 987, when his vehicle ran off the right shoulder of the road.
Handy's car struck a culvert, became airborne and struck an embankment. Handy was thrown onto the road.
Handy died at the scene about 12:35 a.m. The police report did not specify whether Handy was wearing a seat belt at the time of the accident.
