TIGER SHARKS COME FROM BEHIND, NIP EXPRESS 4-3

Cal Ingraham's backhanded wraparound over the glove hand of Express goalie Matt DelGuidice with 6:14 remaining in regulation gave the Tallahassee Tiger Sharks a 4-3 win over the Roanoke Express on Tuesday night.

Ingraham's goal capped a furious, four-goal third period rally for Tallahassee at the Leon County Civic Center. (Summary in Scoreboard. B4)

Ingraham's goal came just 51 seconds after Ron Pasco had scored a power play goal to tie the score.

After a scoreless first period, the Express surged to a 2-0 second intermission lead. Tim Christian beat goalie Mark Richards by converting an Ilya Dubkov behind-the-net feed at 6:02 for a 1-0 Express lead.

Jason Clarke extended the lead to 2-0 with a breakaway goal.

However, for the second straight road game, the Express blew a 2-0 third period lead. Shane Henry finally broke through on DelGuidice on the Tiger Sharks' 41st shot of the game, a right circle power play drive at 1:45 to cut the lead to 2-1.

Defenseman Hardy Sauter ripped his seventh goal of the season less than four minutes later, scoring on a right point blast as the trailer on a late breaking four-on-three rush at 5:42.

Christian rekindled the Express lead by tapping in an easy feed from Dubkov, who wriggled out of the wrap of Sauter to backhand a cross-crease feed at 8:52.

The Express (19-16-1) and Tiger Sharks (16-11-3) conclude a back-to-back series tonight at 7.
