ROANOKE REGIONAL ECONOMIC INDICATORS

Real estate agents in the Roanoke Valley ended the year with a slight gain in sales of new and existing homes.

The Roanoke Valley Multiple Listing Service reported that 3,913 homes were sold in the area last year, compared with 3,814 in 1994, an increase of 2.6 percent.

December, generally a slow month for residential real estate, was a good month with 298 homes sold, a gain of 68 percent over the same month in 1994 when the tally was 177. It was also a 21 percent improvement from 245 homes sold in November.
