3 HOSPITALS IN REGION ADDING 'COLUMBIA' TO NAMES

The signs and stationery of three area hospitals and a psychiatric care center soon will be changed.

Lewis-Gale Hospital and Psychiatric Center, Pulaski Community Hospital and Mongtomery Regional Hospital all will have the word "Columbia" before their names in an effort to associate the facilities more with their parent company, Tennessee-based Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp. The hospitals are in the process of changing all signs, stationery and other materials to reflect the change.

Judy Tynan, marketing and public affairs manager for Mongtomery Regional Hospital, said the change will show people that the individual hospitals have access to the technology of a major company.

"Many times when you're in a small-town hospital, people feel you have to go to a metropolitan hospital to get the care you need," she said. The added association to Columbia/HCA Healthcare Corp., says, "Hey look, we can get any technology in the whole world for you," Tynan added.
