UVA'S FISHER NABS HONOR

Virginia forward Mike Fisher has been named Soccer America's player of the year for 1995.

Fisher, a junior forward, and teammate Damian Silvera are among the three finalists for the Hermann Award, the nation's oldest soccer player of the year award. The winner will be announced Jan.18.

Silvera and Fisher also were finalists for the Missouri Athletic Club's player of the year award, which went to Matt McKeon of St.Louis - the third finalist for the Hermann Award.
