TAP ACCEPTING TAYLOR AWARD NOMINATIONS

Nominations are being accepted for the fifth annual Noel C. Taylor Distinguished Humanitarian Award. Named for the pastor of High Street Baptist Church and former mayor of Roanoke, the award will be presented in May.

Nominees should exemplify the capacity to promote unity and harmony, respect for the individual, compassion for low-income people and a commitment to creating opportunity for all. They must live within the area served by Total Action Against Poverty: Roanoke, Botetourt, Alleghany, Craig and Rockbridge counties and the cities of Roanoke, Salem. Lexington, Buena Vista, Covington and Clifton Forge.

Letters of nomination can come from any individual or organization and must be postmarked or faxed by Feb. 28. Letters should go to Taylor Award, c/o TAP, P.O. Box 2868, Roanoke, Va. 24001-2868.
