'Heart Profile' risk assessment

RADFORD - Radford Community Hospital and Giles Memorial Hospital are sponsoring "Heart Profile," a cardiac risk assessment program for the public. The profile includes a computerized risk assessment test combining family history and habits with results to determine a person's risk for heart disease.

The cost of the profile is $20, and participants will receive a personalized report, a reference wallet card and heart disease prevention information. Radford Community Hospital will conduct heart screenings on Feb. 17 at the Norwood Center in Radford. Giles Memorial Hospital will be screening on Feb. 23 at the hospital.

Both hospitals also offer "Early Response," a free educational program that teaches participants the early warning signs of a heart attack as well as how to deal with those warning signs.

To register for the "Heart Profile" or to obtain more information on the "Early Response" class call (800) 422-8482.
