THE ROANOKE VALLEY YOUNG DEMOCRATS CLUB has announced its new officers. They are: Jennifer Hollingsworth Austin, president; Joe Vannoy, vice president; Mark Cathey, secretary; and Clyde Clark, affirmative action director.
THE BOARD OF BLUE RIDGE COMMUNITY SERVICES has elected the following officers for 1996: Onzlee Ware, chairman, appointed by the city of Roanoke; Pamela K. Cox, vice chairman, appointed by the city of Salem; Susan J. Cloeter, secretary, appointed by Roanoke County; John M. Hudgins Jr., treasurer.
Rodney P. Furr was appointed to the board by Salem for a three-year term.
MODERN WOODMEN OF AMERICA, a fraternal life insurance society, recently honored its Roanoke youth club leader, Teresa Callison, and Evelyn Edwards, director of its local Tiny Tot Service Club, with merit status.
The club participates in social, civic, educational and fraternal activities.
Judging for merit status is based on the quantity and quality of meetings, programs and community services activities.
