JOYCE TRIPLE-DOUBLE SPARKS BIG F-C WIN

Delvin Joyce had a triple-double to lead Fieldale-Collinsville to a 74-47 victory over Chatham on Thursday night in a Piedmont District boys' game in Collinsville.

Joyce had 15 points, 10 assists and 10 steals to lead the way for the Cavaliers. Chatham got a game-high 21 points from Terry Harris.

Carlisle 71, North Cross 58: Joseph McClinton scored nine of his game-high 22 points in the fourth quarter, and the Chiefs (10-1, 6-0) hit 11 3-pointers to put away the Raiders in a Virginia Independent Conference game in Martinsville. Carlisle (10-1, 6-0) buried 11 3-pointers for the game, with Lamont Franklin (17 points) nailing four. North Cross was led by Jeff Baetz's 17 points. Brian Whitaker added 13 and William Watkins had 12.

Graham 60, Carroll County 39: Jordan Burton scored 15 points off the bench to lead the G-Men past the Cavaliers in a non-district game in Bluefield. Burton had eight in the fourth quarter as Graham outscored Carroll County 19-5. David Bailey added 11 points for the G-Men. Carroll County was led by Jon Surratt's 11 points.

Wednesday's games

Carlisle 73, Holy Cross 64: Bryant Redd scored a game-high 27 points as the Chiefs (9-1, 5-0) slipped past the Gaels in a Virginia Independent Conference game in Lynchburg.

Magna Vista 49, Laurel Park 48: The Warriors (6-3, 6-3) led by two points at the half and held on for a one-point Piedmont District victory over the Lancers (5-5, 5-4) in Martinsville.

Magna Vista (6-3, 6-3) was led by Jermaine Simmons' 27 points. Rashad Wall scored 25 points for Laurel Park (5-5, 5-4).

Girls, Pulaski County 52, William Fleming 48: Sharmon Underwood sank the first of two free throws to break a 48-48 tie and Mandy Sexton tipped in her second-shot miss to seal a victory for the Cougars (7-5, 5-0) over the Colonels (8-3, 3-1) in the Roanoke Valley District.
