SUPER EATING PUT A LITTLE PIZAZZ INTO YOUR MENU FOR SUNDAY'S BIG GAME

Chili, lasagna, potato skins, buffalo wings, nachos. Ho, hum, it must be Super Bowl time again.

This year, think delicious and different - like fiery hot shrimp instead of chicken wings, or beefy barbecue sandwiches instead of chili, timed to be cooked to perfection and ready to serve at halftime. Or breaded and crunchy pasta, perfect for dipping in a warm Italian-style sauce.

You won't need nachos when you've got hot baked layered bean dip topped with sour cream served with crispy, crunchy tortilla chips. Easy-to-make tapenade - ideal with crackers, baguette slices, raw vegetables or as a sandwich spread - can be prepared in advance and kept refrigerated for up to a few weeks, freeing you to watch the game instead of the cooking pots.

Bourbon-laced cake makes a fitting finale, although the losing team may prefer its liquor straight.

Happy snacking; happy Super Bowl!
