Bedford Bancshares Inc., holding company of Bedford Federal Savings Bank, said it earned $355,000, or 31 cents a share, in its first fiscal quarter ended Dec. 31. That compares with $357,000, or 30 cents a share, in the first quarter of the prior fiscal year.
The bank said net interest income increased $93,000 from the previous year, primarily because of growth in loans. Fee income rose $8,000.
These increases were offset by an increase of $104,000 in expenses.
