A Roanoke County grocery store was robbed early Tuesday.
A man with a gun entered the Food Lion in the Market Square North shopping center about 3:30 a.m. and demanded money from a cashier, Roanoke County police said. The shopping center is at Williamson and Peters Creek roads.
No one was injured, and the man made off with an undetermined amount of cash, Sgt. M.F. Henninger said. The same store was robbed at gunpoint in August.
In an apparently unrelated incident, a man dressed in camouflage and wearing a baseball cap robbed a Salem grocery store Monday about 8:43 p.m.
Salem Police Lt. D.F. Murphy said the man bought one beer at the Craig Avenue Superette, and when the clerk opened the register to give him change, he told her to give him the rest of the money.
Police said the man threatened the clerk, but did not display a weapon. The robber fled with an undetermined amount of cash.
No arrests have been made in either case.
