ROGIN, Dr. Glenn David, 48, of Route 1, Eagle Rock, died Monday, January 22, 1996, at his home. Dr. Glenn loved fun: a good movie, a good laugh, a good meal. And he loved his patients, the children who saw in him his absolute dedication. He always put their welfare and dignity first. He wore a little koala bear on his stethoscope to remind his patients to smile, and he was always on the lookout for another toy top to put in his exam rooms. He said the tops were for the children, but no one took more delight in them than did he himself. Above all, Dr. Glenn loved his family. He valued, not sentimental and perishable mementoes, but the deeper reality embodied in loving connections: long phone calls, shared vacations, games and suppers together at home. He was absolutely devoted to the truth, despising deception of any kind, and he could be stubborn; but he was also genial, kind, deeply moral, clear-headed, clear-eyed, and compassionate. He will be sadly missed by everyone who knew him. Dr. Rogin was born January 29, 1947, in Detroit , Mich., a son of Sidney M. and Harriet R. Rogin of Bloomfield Hills, Mich. He was a graduate of the University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and Wayne State University School of Medicine. He served with the Peace Corps in Ghana, West Africa, 1969-1971, and completed his residency in pediatrics at Kaiser Permanente Hospital in Oakland, Calif. He served with the U.S. Public Health Service in Pocahontas County, W.Va., 1978-1980, before coming to Alleghany County in 1982 as a private-practice pediatrician. Other than his parents, he is survived by his wife, Dr. Miriam P. Rogin; son, Jonah Charles Rogin of Williamsburg; daughter, Leah Rachel Rogin; brother and sister-in-law, Steven and Cory Rogin of Chicago, Ill.; sisters-in-law, Brenda Rogin of Michiana, Mich., and Nancy P. Evans of El Cerrito, Calif.; nephews, Jonathan Rogin of Chicago, Ill., and David Guard of El Cerrito, Calif.; and a special friend and exchange student, Roman Kucak, of the Slovak Republic.
