STRENGTH COACH MAY STAY AT UVA

Virginia athletic director Terry Holland said Thursday he is not convinced second-year UVa strength coach Eric Fears will go to Georgia, as reported in wire-service transactions.

``I think he's told them he's coming,'' Holland said, ``but I think he's wrestling with it. I don't think it's a done deal. I'm sure it's not. We'd very much like to keep him.''

Fears played football at UVa when current Georgia assistant athletic director Dick Bestwick, involved in the hiring process, was the Cavaliers' coach.
